What the job involves

  • As a Field Application Engineer (a specialized IT professional) you play a crucial role in the successful deployment and integration of our “Spatial Intelligence Platform” solutions for businesses
  • You possess a comprehensive understanding of the solution's architecture, functionality, and integration requirements, ensuring that it is properly implemented and integrated into the customer's environment
  • Solution Design and Configuration: Collaborate with customers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define the specific requirements and configuration of the solution, ensuring it aligns with the customer's business goals and technical infrastructure
  • Deployment and Optimization: Plan, execute, and monitor the deployment process, ensuring that all components are installed, configured, and integrated smoothly. Optimize the solution's performance and scalability to meet the customer's growing needs
  • Technical Support and Training: Provide hands-on technical support to customers, resolving issues, troubleshooting problems, and optimizing the solution's performance. Conduct training sessions to empower customers to effectively utilize the solution and maximize its benefits
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Document the implementation process, configuration steps, and troubleshooting procedures to provide ongoing support to customers and future SIEs. Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues to enhance the team's expertise and consistency
  • Project Management: Effectively manage and oversee the implementation project, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Identify and mitigate potential risks, manage stakeholder expectations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Generation of new sales opportunities: Identify the right stakeholders in the existing customer portfolio, provide insights on customer needs and upcoming projects to the sales team. Help close deals by answering customer questions and addressing any concerns, delivering demo of Outsight solutions and attending to pre-sales customer meetings when requested
  • Product improvement: Provide valuable feedback on product features, and customer support experience, and in particular document Product Feature Requests

Our take

Outsight has combined the software assets of its parent company Dibotics with 3D sensor technology to create a LiDAR pre-processor designed to help make smarter, safer vehicles, and add spatial AI to buildings like stores and airports. Importantly, however, Outsight’s business model is focused on providing a simpler plug-and-play LiDAR solution, to close the gap between LiDAR early adopters and the mainstream market.

Helping more companies easily tap into LiDAR’s full situational awareness capabilities in our growing network of interconnected, smart environments is likely to prove a winning strategy for Outsight going forward. Outsight has already proven attractive to international clients across a number of highly lucrative fields including industrial automation, driverless cars, and drones.

Outsight has carved out a niche for itself, attracting a solid client base as the industry embraces new technologies. In a significant development, the company was acquired by Billups, a leading NYC-based OOH managed services agency, in a deal that expanded Billups' global presence to 16 countries. This acquisition strengthens Outsight's industrial edge and cloud application offerings, opening up exciting new opportunities for growth nad innovation within the company.
