Company mission

To make the transformative power of 3D printing available to all industries at scale and unlock the future of innovation.

Role

Who you are

  • We are looking for an experienced Technical Recruiter to play a critical role in building the team that is creating the world’s most advanced metal 3D printing technology
  • The right person for this role will have a “no job too big or small” mentality, an unwaveringly positive attitude, a mission-driven mindset, a team-oriented attitude, and no ego
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or 4+ years of professional experience as a recruiter in lieu of a degree
  • 3+ years of technical recruiting experience in software, machine learning, mechanical, electrical, or similar engineering discipline
  • In-house recruiting experience

Desirable

  • 5+ years of technical recruiting experience
  • Experience recruiting for a startup or deep tech environment
  • Experience with executive search or similar low-volume, hard-to-fill roles
  • Experience with pitching equity or stock options during the offer process
  • Experience with diversity recruiting and programs
  • Able to operate in a scrappy way, producing results without big budgets or mature infrastructures
  • Comfortable interfacing directly with hiring managers including Director, VP, and C-level technical leaders
  • Able to manage multiple on-going projects/searches, flexible to change, and adaptable to shifting priorities
  • High tolerance for uncertainty and “building the plane as we fly it”
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

What the job involves

  • You will run a full desk focused on sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding top talent
  • You will work closely with your teammates and company leadership to identify areas of improvement in the recruiting process, and will implement measures to drive innovation, efficiency, and standards of excellence within hiring practices
  • You will have an opportunity to recruit for a wide variety of deep-tech, operational, and leadership level disciplines, and will get to play a part in new initiatives in the future such as intern and university recruiting
  • Full cycle recruiting including sourcing, screening, hosting onsite interviews, running interview debriefs, managing offer processes, and closing
  • Provide a high-touch experience throughout the recruiting process with internal stakeholders and candidates while continuously keeping the pipeline active and supporting critical, hard-to-fill technical positions
  • Meet with teammates and company leadership to discuss headcount, new requisitions, hiring strategy, and/or interview feedback
  • Expand on talent acquisition efforts such as organizing company tech talks, attending external events, and other avenues of getting in front of top talent
  • Collaborate with teammates on employer branding strategies and campaigns
  • Analyze data, track metrics, and develop innovative ways to raise the bar on how to hire talent

Our take

There is a huge amount of demand for precision metal fabrication in future-focused industries such as rocketry and vehicle manufacturing, but legacy production techniques are too slow and inflexible to meet the requirements of rapidly changing designs in the most innovative firms. Enter Freeform Future, a company which builds metal 3D printing factories to allow manufacturers to swiftly and efficiently go from idea to mass production.

Founded by engineers with extensive experience at SpaceX, Freeform seeks to replace existing metal fabrication works - typified with heavy reliance on manual labour and legacy processes - with 3D printers and automated software technologies. Rather than needing to train a large workforce on production techniques, Freeform will be able to print almost any metal item at production scale on demand, with a turnaround time of days rather than weeks.

Though having only emerged from stealth in 2023, Freeform has some large-scale customers including autonomous trucking firm Embark and rocket part manufacturer, Ursa Major. After raising significant funding in early 2023, the company is moving from prototype to production, scaling up its operations to meet the growing demand for rapidly produced, high-quality metal components.
