Role

Who you are

  • You have several years of experience in architecting, designing, developing and maintaining backend services and operating infrastructure at a scale
  • You are highly skilled in core software engineering and have excellent coding skills in Java and also good knowledge in Python
  • You fluently understand core data modeling concepts such as measures, dimensions
  • You are deeply familiar with SQL-like languages and relational databases (nice to have experience with cloud warehouses, e.g. BigQuery)
  • You are proactive in your communication, value team collaboration and healthy debate
  • You have experience working in a high-ambiguity environment where taking initiative is expected - maybe you have been an early employee at a startup

What the job involves

  • The Platform team creates the technology that enables Spotify to learn quickly and scale easily, enabling rapid growth in our users and our business around the globe
  • Spanning many disciplines, we work to make the business work; creating the frameworks, capabilities and tools needed to welcome a billion customers
  • Design and implement high-scale services within the analytics domain
  • Work across the full stack (backend, frontend, data) to bring features and solutions to life, although you will have a focus on backend
  • Be a valued member of an autonomous, multi-functional team and contribute to growing the skills and knowledge of your peers
  • Facilitate the collaboration with other specialists, product owners, and designers to ensure we deliver the maximum value to our customers
