Role

Who you are

  • Do people say you have a knack for making the mundane remarkable? Like turning briefs into brand gold?
  • 10+ yrs experience, with AD/ACD background, working at advertising agencies, design studios and/or in-house teams
  • Advanced expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and Google Workspace; some familiarity with Canva
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work closely with copy, UX design and producers to ensure brand consistency across channels
  • Able to collaborate, build relationships, and drive results
  • A flexible multi-tasker who can handle a multitude of different responsibilities at one time, with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Able to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Able to function well in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Able to work independently on a day-to-day basis with limited guidance on new initiatives, within established processes and frameworks
  • Has a positive, adaptive attitude
  • Experienced in Efficiency: A proven track record of working quickly, leading design teams and/or large-scale projects, while identifying and closing gaps within the design process to create efficiencies and higher quality work
  • Visionary Thinking: The ability to see the big picture and the fine details, balancing innovative ideas with practical execution. Knows when and how to flex a brand system to help us show up big, while scaling effectively
  • Problem-Solving Prowess: Uses design to solve complex problems, turning abstract ideas into tangible, impactful solutions. Translates the brief into thoughtful creative work that’s rooted in strategy
  • Customer-first Mentality: You invest in understanding who you’re designing for (our customers) while fostering meaningful relationships with Marketing and other Klaviyo colleagues to deliver remarkable work together
  • Brand Savvy: Deep experience in building and maintaining durable brand systems that are both flexible and consistent
  • Multiformat Mastery: Comfort and expertise in designing for a variety of platforms, ensuring a seamless brand experience across all mediums
  • Proven and Continued Leadership: While this role will be an individual contributor at hire, experience in managing team members and a desire to do so is strongly preferred as our team evolves to meet business needs while fostering career growth. A natural leader and mentor will complete the ideal profile for this role

Our take

Klaviyo is a marketing firm helping growth-focused eCommerce brands drive more sales with super-targeted, highly relevant email, Facebook and Instagram marketing campaigns. From personalised newsletters to automated emails when customers abandon their shopping carts, the marketing automation platform makes it easy for businesses to capture, store, analyze, and predictively use their own data to drive measurable, high-value outcomes.

Klaviyo's CEO, Bialecki, believes that the main problem with e-mail marketing today is that there is a divide between two kinds of tools: analytics tools that help you understand what people are doing on a website, such as what products they are considering, and messaging tools that send them a marketing e-mail. Operating primarily within the retail and eCommerce industry, Klaviyo aims to solve this by offering a tool that brings together analytics and messaging. This allows companies to bring all of their first-party data into a single platform to get a deep understanding of their customers and then activate that data to deliver highly-targeted, personalised communications through email and SMS. In the process, Klaviyo's customers get a deep understanding of their consumers.

Klaviyo is a fast-growing company mainly due to its business model - the firm offers a concrete ROI for Klaviyo’s clients if the software persuades customers to make purchases by treating different types of customers differently. An IPO in 2023 has led to Klaviyo's release of Klaviyo AI, which empowers businesses to unlock revenue-driving opportunities and deliver exceptional customer experiences across channels. Still in its early days of public listing, it will be interesting to see how Klaviyo fares in the years to come.
