Who you are

  • Basic Qualifications for P4 Senior:
  • 5+ years experience of project management with Financial and/or HCM software deployments
  • 5+ years of experience implementing Workday, Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft or similar applications
  • Basic Qualifications for P3:
  • 3+ years experience of project management with Financial and/or HCM software deployments
  • 3+ years of experience implementing Workday, Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft or similar applications
  • Other Qualifications
  • Consulting experience either as an internal consultant or with a consulting/software company
  • Solid grasp of at least one of the following business areas: Human Capital Management, Benefits, Payroll, General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Procurement
  • Excellent organization, time management, and social skills
  • Passion for customer service
  • Previous experience with a major systems integrator and/or an enterprise software company a plus
  • Successful candidates have a balance of functional (business) and technical experience
  • Ability to travel up to 30%

What the job involves

  • The Sr. Engagement Manager will be an expert with the Workday Deployment Methodology
  • They will lead/manage mid to large deployments and resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
  • They will also support executive level expectations by providing internal suggestions to management, based on field experience, as to how to potentially enhance the Workday Deployment Methodology
  • Guide our Customers in the implementation of Workday deployments following multiple approaches of the Workday Methodology
  • Lead the implementations on simultaneous projects
  • Show strength in the Workday product suite - Financials and/or HCM
  • At times, participate in the sales cycle to gather requirements, formulate delivery approach, and develop a proposal/SOW
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to those Professional Service resources working on their implementations
  • Ensure projects are accurately planned and staffed
  • Work with Customer Project Managers to resolve issues and ensure compliance with agreed deliverables
  • Present at Executive Steering Committee meetings
  • Be a liaison for Professional Services when interacting with sales and/or development

Workday is a cloud-based software vendor that provides management of workforces and finances. The company uses a single database for workforce management and financial management to offer integration and optimize business intelligence across companies. It has added to the packages and tools it offers over the years, providing analytic options that allow companies to combine third-party data with information collected by Workday.

Workday has acquired and paired up with many other companies to keep expanding its offering. In 2021, it purchased the employee feedback platform Peakon in response to the growing need for managers to be able to survey workers and collect satisfaction data without face-to-face meetings. The company has also bought and developed many financial tools and HR management tools.

The company’s goal is to provide end-to-end back office services and while there are other providers, such as UKG Pro and Ceridian HCM, Workday’s broad offering helps them to stand out. Though it faced a tough global market in 2023 and has shed some of its headcount, Workday has seen a 6.5% gain in value in the first quarter of 2024. It is now focusing on growth and developing the AI capabilities of its platform. .
