Who you are
- 6+ years experience in strategic operations capacity in healthcare or consumer focused industry
- 5+ years of managing a team directly
- 4+ years project planning and program management experience

What the job involves
- We're hiring a Senior Manager, Member Experience Strategy to join our Strategy & insights team
- You will play a critical role in shaping Oscar's approach to delivering a frictionless and high-quality experience for the members that we serve
- This high-performing and high visibility leader will lead the evolution of Oscars operating model by deriving insights from internal and external research, designing and executing upon strategic projects, and presenting strategic recommendations and scenarios to our executive team
- You will report to the Director, Strategy & Insights
- Leverage insights to define Oscar's foundational member segmentations and personas
- Design differentiated member experience strategy and launch necessary operating model
- Identify and deploy engagement opportunities to drive high value member interactions
- Lead the design and establishment of operational reporting and insight capabilities to highlight trends, opportunities, and acute pain points
- Identify and launch insight driven strategic initiatives, from ideation to execution
- Collaborate deeply with SMEs and functional leaders across the organization
- Maintain a strong external orientation, leveraging deep healthcare industry and market knowledge, a pulse on healthcare investments and innovation, as well as insights into our competition and our customers' needs to bring together research and strategic decisions in key areas
- Lead and grow team, coaching team members and driving accountability

The US healthcare system is the worlds largest and most expensive, but has health outcomes worse than those of other advanced economies. Oscar is focused on building a system of healthcare that is completely centered around its members' experience, offering direct-to-consumer insurance, with digital tools such as a virtual care experience forming a key part of the company’s business model.
Oscar is the first health insurance company built around a full stack technology platform. It gained a competitive edge by launching the "My Identity" functionality in 2021, that demonstrated a huge step for diversity and inclusion in healthcare, enabling users to input their names, pronouns and gender identity in the Oscar app. It also provides access to health providers that will understand a user's language, race, ethnicity, and health situation, showcasing the company's focus on optimizing member experiences.
The company has secured good funding in the past, and expanded into new markets and states since its launch. Fresh funds will fuel growth atop a series of successful years, as well as back ventures such as its Culturally Competent Care Grant Program, that awards grants to US organizations that are working to increase care access for underserved communities.
