Who you are

  • 5+ years in digital Product management preferably with research data platforms and products
  • Deep understanding of pharma research business processes, data/data applications and understanding of the underlying structure of data generated as part of pharma / vaccines research processes
  • Experience managing or coaching product teams and driving adoption of agile product development practices in a large Enterprise setting
  • Understanding of software engineering, information modeling, data analytics and insights, data mesh, and cloud architectures/technologies
  • Excellent oral and written communication. Proven ability to communicate and present effectively to senior leaders, cross-functional and cross-organizational teams. Presentation and organizational skills, interpersonal skills to ensure efficient relationship with all stakeholders
  • Proven ability to lead, collaborate and influence teams without direct authority
  • Agile / Scrum practices using Atlassian software (Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience or training in user story development, data flow mapping and analysis of data ingestion harmonization requirements for analytics, with exposure to information modeling
  • Exposure to Software engineering architecture and tools (React/Angular, API development, Python, JavaScript, etc.), data engineering and analytics (Spark, BI solution e.g., Power BI); Prior experience with data science/AI/ML, data platforms (AWS/Databricks/Snowflake/Informatica), cloud platforms (AWS / Azure) are desirable
  • Bachelor’s in computer science / Engineering or equivalent, Certifications in Product Management / Agile preferred

What the job involves

  • Sanofi is recruiting a Director, Research Data Fabric Product Line Owner, reporting to the Head of Research & CMC Data Products
  • The Research Data Fabric Product Line owner is a key role in the Global R&D Data Products organization and will be responsible for establishing a harmonized, FAIR-ified, analytics-ready environment of data assets called the research data fabric
  • The Product line owner owns the entire lifecycle of the set of product/s from ideation through exploration, validation, growth, sustainability, and eventually retirement, to ingest data from source systems (ELN, LIMS, instrument software, etc), harmonize, and make data accessible and re-useable for analytics use
  • (S)he is a key decision maker and accountable to the business for delivering value to their customers
  • (S)he conceives, defines, tests, delivers, documents, monitors, refines, and withdraws digital products to maximize business results
  • (S)he conducts customer research and works with key stakeholders across research, technology, data engineering, data science, and data governance organizations to efficiently develop and deliver research data fabric products to achieve business objectives across the research and CMC organizations
  • Works closely with key research & digital stakeholders to define and communicate the product vision and roadmap in alignment with broader organization goals, Digital Architecture guidelines, and Data strategy
  • Looks across analytics use cases and establishes common patterns of data required for analytics use, re-useable patterns of data ingestion and harmonization and re-use required for dev/ops of a scalable research data fabric platform
  • Creates requirements and Jira stories, manages backlog refinement, and drives feature prioritization efforts. Contributes to the definition and to maintain the Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) to help ensure that solutions meet relevant regulations, standards, and other system quality requirements,
  • Defines KPIs and value proposition and acts according to impacts (Continue, Adjust or Stop)
  • Determines release definition and owns decision on when enough value has been accrued to warrant a release to the customer
  • Drives adoption of a products-based Digital R&D data organization for the product lines within scope of the position
  • Ensures that Digital Products/computerized systems meet all controls to address applicable quality, regulatory (Data Privacy, GxP, SOX, etc.) and cybersecurity requirements
  • Has the responsibility to challenge, prioritize and negotiate with the Business and/or Digital partners towards Product vision and functionality
  • Builds, leads, and mentors a team of cross techno-functional product team members that will drive the definition, execution and delivery of the product vision, strategy, goals, and related business processes
  • Works closely with the central Digital Data organization to align on architecture, priorities, technical capability needs and roadmaps, and delivery of product components
  • Collaborates with Pod Core team daily, providing guidance, addressing ambiguities, and being readily available to help resolve risks & issues
