Who you are

  • 7+ years of coding experience in a production setting writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders in engineering, data science, machine learning, and product
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Scala, Python, Go, or Java
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field
  • Experience working with Terraform, Helm, Flink, Airflow, Prometheus, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD

What the job involves

  • As a staff engineer, you will lead your team in the design and creation of our Snapshot product used to deliver high quality data to partners
  • You will partner with teams around Reddit to create and execute a strategy to ensure data quality and consistency at scale
  • Contribute to developing the team and organization’s long term strategy
  • Refine and maintain our data infrastructure technologies to support real-time processing of hundreds of millions of users
  • Own the tools we use to ingest, store and improve data quality
  • Mentor other engineers on how to design, build, and evangelize services used by external developers

Reddit makes money through advertising as well as offering a premium ad-free membership plan. The company has enjoyed continuous user & revenue growth, acquisitions by Conde Nast in 2006 and Advance in 2011, and plans to launch an IPO bid in 2024.
