Role
Who you are
- You have at least eight (8) years of professional experience implementing web applications
- You have at least four (4) years using React and TypeScript
- You have contributed to systems that deliver solutions to complex business problems that handle massive amounts of data. You are drawn towards scale, distributed systems, and associated technologies
- You can clearly explain the nuances of system design and paradigms to engineers and stakeholders
- You prioritize end user experience, and it shows in your APIs design, functionality, and performance
- You have a strong command over design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
- You communicate technical ideas with ease and always look to collaborate to deliver high quality products
- You can recognize and find solutions to performance issues

What the job involves
- As an experienced Frontend Software Engineer you will help build our flagship Clear Street Studio, a modern prime brokerage experience
- You will tackle non trivial problems that force you to balance trade offs while implementing clean and efficient solutions
- You will raise our bar on providing clean and efficient solutions that delight and offer the best experience for our customers
- You will push our operational standards and ensure that we are able to offer and maintain a high SLA
- This role is deeply involved with engineering the next generation of our state of the art Studio (portal) for our varied client base including hedge funds, traders and portfolio managers
- You will work with a team of talented, passionate and highly collaborative engineers. It’s been quite a rise to prominence for the New York based startup, which surpassed a billion dollar valuation in 2022 despite only launching in 2018. However, given the previous industry experience of its founders, Clear Street's success should come as no surprise. The trio built the platform as a remedy to their own pain points, missed opportunities, and lack of access to key data in the prime brokerage space.
With its Unicorn status secured and its list of clients growing, Clear Street is now gearing up for a period of rapid expansion, both geographically and across the financial services industry.
