Who you are

  • Of course, we’re looking for someone with a strong business acumen, willing to make Swan grow over the long-term and excited by the challenges of selling
  • But we’re also looking for a strategic thinker, able to understand our customers’ needs and to perform consultative sales
  • We need a curious person, willing to learn and comfortable with the technical aspects of our product
  • 4/5+ Sales experience, preferably selling a technical product in Fintech or Payments
  • Demonstrated capacity to sell to large accounts: you know how to approach complex organizations and conduct deals with long sales cycles
  • Previous experience in an international / European environment
  • Professional proficiency in English and German
  • Passion for startups and new technology businesses
  • Ability to understand and articulate technical concepts, and translate them into industry- or business-relevant terms
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent team player and fun to work with
  • Our ideal teammate: Empathetic. Skilled. Frank. We love to challenge each other, and we leave our egos at the door

What the job involves

  • Swan is looking for a Country Lead Germany, based in our Berlin office, to commercially develop Swan in Germany/DACH and be the face of the company for the region
  • This is a hybrid role where you both need to like being an individual contributor, actively hunting, convincing and signing new partners and to publicly embody Swan, eg. at events, on LinkedIn or in the press
  • Along with our German MLRO (Money Laundering and Reporting Officer), you will also be in charge of our relationships with the German regulatory authorities (aka “die BaFin”)
  • This is a key role that will give you the opportunity to shape our future in the DACH region
  • We’re also looking for a team player who will partner with our product and compliance teams (among others) to ensure our roadmap entails the main requests of our top German prospects and partners, and to constantly improve our onboarding processes
  • Be accountable for increasing revenue and new client acquisition at high rates of growth
  • With the support of our BDR and growth teams, develop outbound strategies to create and nurture opportunities
  • Develop a consultative and solution-based sales approach to answer our customers needs
  • Be the internal and external point of contact for our marketing and PR activities in Germany
  • Build Swan’s offer to tackle new verticals
  • Be the voice and face of Swan for the region (at events and in the press)
  • Attend industry events to meet new prospects and spot new opportunities for Swan
  • Be in charge of relationships with local regulators to make sure Swan correctly meets its requirements
  • Effectively work cross-functionally across the organization to shape Swan’s solutions to meet customer needs

Application process

  • A 30-min video call with our Talent Acquisition Manager, to get to know you, understand your career expectations and answer your questions
  • An interview with Sebastian, our Head of Sales Northern Europe
  • An interview with Benjamin, our Account Executive
  • An interview with Florent, our Chief Commercial Officer and Luka, our Chief Revenue Officer

Otta's take

Theo Margolius

COO of Otta

Swan believes its services can transform a business by adding a financial layer. Swan’s APIs enable European companies to integrate banking services into their own digital product: embedded finance.

While not alone in the fintech industry, the company stands out by squarely targeting SaaS platforms, marketplaces, and other fintechs with its embedded finance products. The company, offering an end-to-end, integrated and multi-product experience coupled with the fact it owns the payment and fraud risk, has garnered the attention of impressive clients including Agricap, Carrefour, Pennylane and Ride.

The company has invested into accelerating its expansion into the European market by developing more banking features that are specialized for a variety of local EU markets and enhancing the platform’s functionality with a self-service offering. Swan is gaining momentum with its expansion efforts and is well set to remain on this path.
