What the job involves

  • The Business Development team at AlphaSense sits at the front line of our company’s prospect engagement and pipeline generation efforts
  • We qualify potential prospects, leverage diverse outreach strategies, engage in strategic conversations with stakeholders, and collaborate with Account Executives with the goal of expanding our footprint within net new accounts to generate revenue for the organization
  • Business Development Representatives at AlphaSense are fundamental to the success and growth of our business
  • You will focus on driving new business by responding to potential prospects that show an interest in AlphaSense in a timely manner, establishing and building relationships with these executives or investment professionals over the phone, by email and through social outreach
  • The BDR role at AlphaSense will provide you with the foundational expertise you need to not only excel in the role today but our training and development program will help to propel your career into a quota-carrying sales role
  • Conduct in depth research on inbound leads that route through to you and respond to them in a timely manner
  • Apply business/sales development best practices with email, phone and social outreach to connect with prospects
  • Engage with prospects to articulate our product’s value proposition
  • Utilize discovery and objection handling strategies to speak knowledgeably with decision makers and to build and qualify interest in our offerings
  • Partner closely with Account Executives to coordinate meetings on their calendars, log activities in CRM, and proactively action feedback given to you
  • Demonstrate ability to consistently achieve or exceed program targets

Manual research can be a serious pain : financial analysts spend hours every week searching through PDFs one keyword at a time, just to find a single usable insight. To remedy this, AlphaSense has built a smart search engine that slashes research time for analysts, using thousands of sources and a semantic indexing layer that can effectively query finance-specific language.

As a disruptor and market leader in this field AlphaSense has few direct competitors, being most closely compared to Wolfram Alpha or LexisNexis. It helps that its tools are undoubtedly effective and valued by knowledge professionals: the company counts about 85% of the S&P 100 as customers and is trusted by J.P.Morgan, Microsoft, Credit Suisse and Google, among other major enterprises.

Having raised a large amount of funding over 2022 and 2023, AlphaSense has moved quickly to double down on its expansion in European markets, opening an office in Berlin to support this. With 2024 seeing investment from Singaporean EDBI, it is now setting its sights on the Asia-Pacific region. As business intelligence will remain key for enterprises as they compete for market share, AlphaSense is well-placed for additional future growth.
