Who you are
- Currently pursuing or has obtained a PhD degree in Computer Science or related fields
- Familiarity with state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms, especially deep learning techniques including generative AI
- Proficiency in programming with Python and machine learning development tools/libraries
- Ability to quickly identify research opportunities, select the appropriate approach for exploration, and drive research step by step with a clear vision and reliability
- Self-motivated with a strong drive to excel
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Identify with the Celonis value of customer first, passionate about solving real world customer problems
- Passionate about developing scalable and efficient AI/ML solutions
- Passionate about building high quality AI/ML solutions with clear and repeatable evaluation mechanisms
What the job involves
- We are seeking motivated and talented machine learning interns to join our team
- The internship offers an opportunity to work on state-of-the-art machine learning techniques, including but not limited to generative AI techniques, as well as real-world applications
- The intern will work with experienced professionals to contribute to the innovative machine learning related techniques and products
- As a machine learning intern, you are expected to conduct research and experiments on challenging machine learning problems that are closely related to Celonis products
- You are expected to develop machine learning algorithms, models and systems for real-world applications
- You may need to interact closely with other engineers to build scalable and high quality AI/ML features and solutions for our customers
- The work may span the areas of generative AI, natural language processing, data mining, recommendation, knowledge base, business intelligence, and other AI technologies
- Design and develop scalable and high quality AI/ML algorithms, models and systems for Celonis products
- Initiate and lead research efforts towards solving real world problems using machine learning techniques, including understanding the application requirement, identifying potential machine learning algorithms, and coming up with research strategies
- Conduct innovative research on topics in processing mining/deep learning/generative AI that can eventually be used in Celonis products
- Document research findings and share knowledge with team members
Our take
Celonis started out in an obscure niche which the company called process mining. Its first product was created to scan data logs for its clients and map out their processes in its entirety - inefficiencies and all. Celonis' product was in essence, to be considered a replacement for costly consultants and quants.
The company has since branched out into an even more niche area that plays on the strength of its products and proprietary technology - such as execution management solutions. Celonis' product found significant uptake across industries like supply chain, manufacturing, and business intelligence which quickly amassed it a wealth of enterprise customers and hundreds of millions of dollars in recurring revenue.
Celonis is king in its industry as it was founded just as data-heavy enterprise operations sky-rocketed. Now, the company is backed by hefty funding and impressive advisors across several industries, still seeing increased investment despite the venture capital market is experiencing a slowdown. Celonis has shown impressive foresight and innovation as a company and will continue to eat the fruits of those labour for many years to come.
