Who you are
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 3+ cumulative years of design experience with industrial or commercial engineering in Mission Critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation, oil / gas facilities
Desirable
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 2+ years data center design experience
What the job involves
- As a Project Design Electrical Engineer, you will lead design projects in operational data centers, that remediate issues, upgrade our existing infrastructure and add new services
- You will be the 'go to' engineering resource for these projects and will provide lifecycle support from design through implementation
- Own the design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions which add data center infrastructure, capacity, improve availability, and increase sustainability
- Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions
- Support construction, commissioning, and turnover
- Be detail and data oriented with familiarity with design/construction processes
- Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Commissioning, Construction and Design)
- Each day you will interact with different teams responsible for various aspects of the data centers
- You will mentor and oversee the work of junior engineers in your discipline
- You will have the opportunity to work on projects locally and globally, with up to 25% travel

This growth is particularly impressive considering its digital ad rivals (like Snap, Alphabet, and Meta) have suffered declines due to wider macroeconomic factors and Apple's iOS privacy changes.
Despite its dominant market position, Amazon will continue to be challenged over the next decade, including sustaining AWS's cloud dominance in the face of Google and Microsoft. On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
