Role
Who you are
- 3-5 years of software test and QA experience
- Experience working with or adding to a testing framework
- Has experience with Chaos Engineering or would enjoy implementing Chaos Engineering practices
- Technical understanding of distributed systems
- Embraces a move fast but safely approach to software testing and development
Desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar discipline or relevant experience
- Experience with multiplayer gaming testing and development
- Experience with data analytics and showing the health of software over time
- Early-stage startup experience testing or developing software
- Experience with Elixir or C++
- Enjoys working with engineers to debug a live production or pre-production system
What the job involves
- Software is the central nervous system for True Anomaly’s engineering and product thesis. Software bridges the gap between military objectives, theoretical astrodynamics and the human and autonomous control of spacecraft and ground systems in time and space
- True Anomaly is seeking a highly qualified QA Engineer to ensure that Mosaic is performant, reliable and comprehensive software that meets the demands required for space operations
- Aerospace or space experience not required
- Our engineers draw on their varied and expert backgrounds to make Mosaic the optimal system for satellite and constellation management and operation
- You’ll have ownership of challenging, greenfield problems and a chance to fundamentally impact the outcome of future conflict (and the future of the company), all while enjoying world-class benefits including platinum healthcare, flexible work hours/location, highly competitive compensation and a generous stock options package
- Work closely with engineering and product to test the functionality and performance of Mosaic
- Work across disciplines including Flight Software, Spacecraft Production, and Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) to validate end-to-end performance and reliability of both software and hardware at True Anomaly
- Execute and validate tactics and scenarios that exercise the full gamut of Mosaic functionality
- Push Mosaic to its limits and provide engineering insights gained from load testing and complex scenarios so that Mosaic can reach greater heights
Our take
True Anomaly is a space tech startup composed of former military operators and engineers. The Colorado-based company is focused on building spacecraft and software solutions designed to secure U.S. commercial and military interests in space. It has already developed a fully-integrated platform with seamless satellite, navigation, and data-capture technologies that provide security and training for the quickly evolving space market.
Founded in 2022, True Anomaly has already designed its first spacecraft, the Jackal Autonomous Orbital Vehicle, which can be used to train operators on the ground or as intelligence-gathering tools against adversarial spacecraft. Alongside this, the startup has built a 35,000-square-foot facility in Denver to manufacture the Jackals and hired a team of close to 60 people.
Recently True Anomaly has come out of stealth and secured funding from a number of investors. With the capital gained from its most recent funding, the company plans to validate the technical abilities and operations capabilities of the Jackal and make the necessary investments to scale production for later this year.
