  • You care deeply about using information and data in decision-making and have experience in communicating that logic to stakeholders
  • You are a strong problem solver and can communicate the challenges and solutions effectively
  • You are a strong communicator and comfortable collaborating with groups and at times, training or educating teams to use data tools or to understand results
  • You drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
  • You like working in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable managing multiple tasks to tight deadlines
  • You are eager to learn from others and help others grow with you
  • Strong SQL skills, comfortable working with python and experience working with a modern ETL framework, such as Airflow
  • Experience working as a data engineer, analytics engineer, data analyst or data scientist
  • Undergraduate or Masters degree in business administration, statistics, computer science or similarly quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience

Desirable

  • Data analysis and data manipulation in Python (Pandas, PySpark, etc)
  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Worked with a SaaS company on customer facing data products
  • Backend Software Engineering experience and understanding

What the job involves

  • As a Senior Customer Business Intelligence Engineer, you will deploy data models to our customers’ data environments and work with those customers to ensure they can quickly and easily work with our data and derive value from it
  • In this role, you will use your expertise in data infrastructure and data modelling to design, build, maintain and optimize our data warehouse to provide clean and robust data sets to both internal and external stakeholders
  • You will be working closely with backend developers to understand our data at its source, as well as with data analysts and product managers to understand our products and features, and downstream uses of our data models
  • Our data team also manages an internal Business Intelligence product that primarily leverages a SQL-based ETL to surface key performance indicators company-wide within Looker
  • You will be working closely with data engineers and data scientists on the team to build and maintain our data pipelines to ingest and transform data from a variety of sources to support these BI tools
  • Manage the deployment of data products for League’s customers including the configuration of our data models based on the customer’s feature set
  • Communicate directly with customers to coordinate product launches, as well as ongoing support with issues and questions about our data models
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure that the impact on data sources and data models is considered during product development
  • Support data analysts, data scientists and product managers by understanding how they will be working with our data and adjust designs accordingly
  • Develop best practices for data model design and documentation, and promote the use of these practices by other members of the data team
  • Build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and with customers
  • Identify opportunities for technical investments to help teams meet business objectives

Application process

  • You should receive a confirmation email after submitting your application
  • A recruiter (not a computer) reviews all applications at League
  • If we see alignment with League's needs, a recruiter will reach out to learn more about your goals. The recruiter will also share the team-specific interview process depending on the roles you are exploring
  • The final step is an offer, which we hope you will accept!
  • Prior to joining us, we conduct reference and background checks. Additional checks could be required for US Candidates, depending on the role you are exploring

Our take

Health benefits are a top requirement for anyone seeking a new job in the US today, but classic one-size-fits-all plans are no longer regarded fit for service. League's platform - for payers, providers, consumer health businesses, and employees - connects all benefits in one HIPAA-compliant place, to enable all bodies involved with health benefits to provide better customer healthcare experiences.

League is already one of the bigger players in the employee wellness space, having capitalized on the recently accepted correlation between employee health and productivity to secure huge clients like Uber, Shopify and Unilever. The company has seen significant investment which will support the scaling of its platform-as-a-service offering, to position it as the leading digital infrastructure for an integrated health ecosystem.
