What the job involves

  • As the new HR Intern, you will be Taktile's ambassador to our future employees. You will collaborate closely with our HR team to ensure the efficient management of the entire employee lifecycle. Your key responsibilities will encompass managing the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to ongoing feedback and support
  • You will play a crucial role in maintaining our HR systems, coordinating interviews, and ensuring a smooth onboarding process for new hires. By handling these essential tasks, you will contribute significantly to shaping the company's growth and ensuring we maintain a high standard of employee satisfaction and performance
  • You will interact closely with our product, tech, and sales leadership teams, head of business operations, and founding team members to coordinate interviews, assess candidates, and manage various HR activities
  • Interview Coordination and Employee Onboarding: Schedule and coordinate interviews; manage communication with candidates and hiring managers to ensure a smooth hiring and onboarding experience. Once candidates join our team you will take the lead in preparing and coordinating first-day agendas for the new hires
  • Database and Profile Management: Maintain and update HR-related content on our internal databases and manage employee profiles on Personio, ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date. This is crucial for consistency and compliance with company policies
  • Administrative Support: Distribute and manage employee access cards, and draft and update official HR letters and documents
  • Employee Benefits Management: Assist in managing and communicating benefits for employees, ensuring they are well-informed about their entitlements and processes
  • Feedback Management: Assist in the set-up and management of feedback sessions for employees, including management of deadlines and coordinating with employees and supervisors to ensure timely completion
  • General HR Support: Assist with any HR-related queries, providing timely and accurate information to employees and managers

Our take

Taktile’s goal is to ultimately enable its enterprise customers in the financial services industry to adopt machine learning (ML) technology and deliver ML applications. Whilst ML may seem old news, enterprise level businesses in the financial services have been slow to adopt it due to a shortage of expertise, IT resources, and regulatory freedom. The wealth of granular data at their fingertips has, therefore, gone underutilised. With Taktile, these organisations can easily deploy, maintain, and monitor ML applications on a single platform, finally putting crucial ML tools in the hands of enterprise level businesses.

Whilst Taktile are still young, they have inspired impressive confidence in some high profile backers, including Y Combinator, and the founders of industry behemoths like Datadog and Github. Presumably this is in anticipation of the reported wave of AI transformation about to break over the financial services - nearly 90% of financial services execs, by one report, plan on boosting their AI investments over the coming years.

Platforms like Taktile may well prove a crucial facilitating force in this rising tide, and a fertile ground for new innovation - alternatively, enterprises could follow the lead of more agile startups and take their ML development in-house. The latter may, in fact, seem a more attractive long-term solution, so Taktile will need to ensure its platform remains convincingly superior. However, evidence of sustained investor interest in Taktile came from its November 22 Series A funding to the sum of $20 million.
