Company mission

To make renting safer, cheaper, and fairer for everyone.

Role

Who you are

  • We are looking for a Head of Operations who is pragmatic, data driven, and with high attention to detail.
  • Experience in operations at a consumer-facing business - ideally leading a function, setting priorities and making decisions with imperfect information
  • Pragmatic, happy to get stuck in and do the work yourself when needed
  • A confident communicator who can hold their own with internal management and senior external relationships
  • Instinct to use data to identify and understand problems, set goals and then test and measure outcomes
  • An ambitious mentality, looking to drive up standards and push us to the next level

What the job involves

  • You will be expected to provide leadership internally, manage supplier relationships and negotiations, and work closely with senior management to problem solve emerging issues while contributing to overall strategy
  • We want you to take overall charge of operations across our full suite of products, reporting directly to the founders
  • Be the go-to person for big/complex issues across customer support, compliance and supplier relationships
  • Prioritise areas of the business where we can drive up standards - identifying where we need to add capacity, create process or build out product to improve the customer experience
  • Ensure that operational priorities are communicated within the senior team, and across the business
  • Have a tangible impact on a product that solves real world problems and transforms the experience of the rental market for our 6.9 million users

Application process

  • 1. Apply via Otta
  • 2. Video Call with People Team
  • 3. In person Interview with Founders

Our take

Since founding in 2012, OpenRent has been transforming the renting industry by connecting landlords with tenants online. Its platform empowers them to arrange lettings cheaply, quickly & efficiently, unlike many of the exploitative and expensive traditional letting agencies.

In comparison to more traditional letting business models, OpenRent primarily targets tenant matching and related add-on services, saving tenants time by filtering out unsuitable rentals. All document processing occurs online, resulting in a more streamlined system than traditional letting businesses.

With its fundamental focus on combining customer experience and technology, OpenRent lets more properties than any other UK high-street agency, with 5+ million users. The company is committed to continuing to transform the industry and expanding its team to do so.
