What the job involves

  • The Core Group has stewardship over the open-source and cloud implementations of the dbt project and adapters, works in public, and is responsible for ensuring the teams stay close to the needs of the business, collaborate effectively with all cloud EPD teams, adding new capabilities to dbt, optimizing the performance of parsing and executing projects, and reviewing community contributions
  • Build, support, and lead 2 teams of 10-15 highly talented and engaged engineers with the support of the manager of the adapters team
  • Coach and mentor engineers and a manager on the team to help them grow their skills and their careers
  • Partner with the product team to execute the timely delivery of key business initiatives
  • Foster and grow our OSS and cloud offering of our products and active Community
  • Hold 1:1s, quarterly and annual reviews with every member of the team
  • Gather, compile, and clearly communicate performance feedback to the team
  • Actively participate in our recruiting process from sourcing to hiring
  • Foster technical decision-making within the team and across teams
