Who you are

  • Is excellent at using SQL for data pipeline development in a modern data stack (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, dbt, etc.)
  • Has 8+ years of work experience as an Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, Business Intelligence Engineer, Product Analyst, or a similar role
  • Is familiar with data modeling principles and best practices
  • Has strong analytical and critical thinking skills, high attention to detail, and a strong bias toward impact and actionable insights
  • Has a passion for communicating insights through the language of data

What the job involves

  • As part of our esteemed data team, this role is pivotal in allowing us to make quicker, more informed business decisions.
  • The person in this role will have the opportunity to help build an exceptional Analytics stack, foster a data-driven culture throughout our organization, and empower decision-makers at all levels with a reliable source of truth
  • The Analytics Engineer will team up with product, marketing, and business leaders, alongside other data experts, to create exceptional and scalable analytical solutions for our company
  • Own the last mile data delivery for product and business stakeholders
  • Form a deep understanding of the business, your partners' opportunities and problems, and how data can solve them
  • Work closely with data scientists to define and operationalize critical business metrics
  • Team with data engineers to design dimensional tables to be used by power users and other developers
  • Write complex, production-grade SQL pipelines using engineering best practices for testing, version control, and documentation
  • Create scalable analytical solutions, such as dashboards, alerts, and tools, to enable your users' self-serve reporting and analysis capabilities
  • Continuously re-evaluate our data ecosystem against industry best practices and new third party technologies to ensure Grammarly’s analytics stack remains best-in-class

From professional writing to everyday correspondence, effective communication is critical. Grammarly is an AI-powered writing assistant that helps people write clearly and without mistakes, checking spelling, grammar, and other potential pitfalls.

Grammarly was originally launched as a subscription service for students, although the platform has moved into the mainstream in the last decade. It went freemium in 2015 and now works across more than 500,000 applications and websites including email clients, enterprise software, and word processors. Paid tiers give users more tools beyond grammar and spelling checks to include things like word choice, sentence rewrites, tone adjustments, fluency, and formality level.

The company has been profitable since the beginning and now has a valuation of more than $13 billion, placing it among the 10 most valuable startups in the US. The AI writing assistant space is heating up, and Grammarly is hoping to defend its positions against offerings including Scalenut, Ginger and Microsoft's Editor by the release of its SDK, making it far easier to integrate Grammarly into other applications. So far this has been used in over 4,000 products and earned excellent ratings and increased user numbers of Grammarly's service.
