  • Strong prior experience in MadCap Central and MadCap Flare, particularly with working with multiple targets and conditionalized text
  • Experience working cross functionally to implement procedures and policy changes to a set of manuals to support Company program goals
  • Strong experience in improving end-to-end documentation creation processes to increase standardization, quality, customer satisfaction, and efficiency
  • An ability to integrate raw technical inputs from Engineering, Operations, Regulatory Counsel, and other stakeholders to create cohesive, easy-to-understand documentation with minimal guidance
  • Resourcefulness in researching and pulling from multiple sources of information in order to produce thorough written resources that stakeholders can depend on
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects -- often autonomously -- in a fast-paced, changing environment

  • The grit, resourcefulness, and resilience to thrive in novel, uncertain, and constantly changing business and regulatory environments
  • The ability to travel 5-10% of the time
  • Eligibility to work in the US

What the job involves

  • We are looking for a talented technical writer to help create and build a robust, high-quality documentation system for our fast-paced operations, including manuals, operating procedures, and policies
  • You’ll have the opportunity to use your applied reasoning and strong analytical skills to advocate for creating improvements in messaging and documentation as well as develop and promote the adoption of documentation
  • You’ll be responsible for deliverables of substantial scope and complexity, and responsible for ensuring these projects are updated on time to support our operations
  • You’ll also be responsible for administering the platform our users access these documents, including managing conditionalized manual variants and ensuring our operators have access to the right set of information
  • You will collaborate with many cross-functional teams, listening and drawing from their expertise, experiences, and needs
  • You will work within a fast-paced and dynamic working environment
  • You know how to set a high bar for quality and accuracy for your documentation and you will hold your communications and action to the same standard
  • Create, maintain, and update high-quality manuals, procedures, and other documents that comply with regulatory requirements and are easy to use
  • Design and establish style guidelines and standards for text and illustrations
  • Review, revise, edit, and proofread documents prepared by others
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of updates to documents
  • Manage competing priorities with minimal guidance
  • Drive cross-functional engagement with subject matter experts for review and approval of documentation

Our take

Zipline is transforming the way goods move by creating the first logistics system that serves all humans equally via a drone delivery service. As the first emergency drone logistics operation, Zipline is fundamentally changing how we transport emergency medical supplies and has expanded into commercial deliveries. It's partnered with several major companies, including Walmart.

Zipline has an edge over potential future competitors as the company has thousands of hours and over 35 million miles of flight to prove the system is safe and effective. It’s also one of the first companies to receive a full commercial operating certificate, putting Zipline in a strong position to continuously branch out to other markets.

The unicorn company operates globally and has signed its first government contract with Rwanda to provide up to 2 million drone deliveries by 2029. It is also aiming to start commercial deliveries to individual households in the near future. With big companies such as Amazon and Walmart examining “instant” delivery options, Zipline has a proven track record and the equipment and logistics in place to provide such services. 2023 funding pushed Zipline's valuation to a staggering $4.2 billion, indicating a bright future.
