What the job involves

  • Stripe is investing in building out its Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) product sales team to actively engage prospects and customers to help them transform their business through building on Stripe’s platform
  • As the Head of BaaS Revenue & Growth (EMEA) you will be a critical part of the go-to-market leadership team, driving strategy and operations for Stripe’s BaaS GTM resulting in accelerated revenue growth across the Issuing, Treasury, and Capital product areas
  • As the Head of BaaS Revenue & Growth (EMEA), you will lead a team of high-performing sales executives while helping them deliver on ambitious targets across three key products: Issuing, Treasury & Capital
  • Recruit, develop and lead a team of product sales executives focused on the BaaS business within the EMEA region
  • Create go-to-market plans and solutions to meet our customer needs, in collaboration with Product, Sales, Finance and Marketing stakeholders
  • Manage day-to-day operations, with a focus on performance against key sales metrics
  • Be accountable for driving revenue, increasing attach rates, and new client acquisition at high rates of growth
  • Coach and guide the team in developing consultative and solution-based sales skills through all facets of the sales cycle
  • Get hands on engaged in the largest, most strategic opportunities, leading executive relationships and helping the team win new customers
  • Inspire, motivate, and enable individual development to promote career growth of direct reports
  • Lead with clarity and context with a compelling plan in line with Stripe’s direction
  • Create structure and focus for GTM ideas and product sales campaigns that the product team is exploring. Drive execution and measurement. Analyze results and make recommendations for action in a timely manner
  • Constantly innovate and improve programs and program management mechanisms, suggesting new ideas, sharing best practices, and improving the business and customer engagement model

Our take

Stripe, nowadays a FinTech giant, spent the first few years since its founding building up its payments business, which primarily consisted of providing an API to eCommerce businesses so that they could easily integrate a payments option in their apps or websites, where before there was none.

More recently, Stripe has started to accelerate its growth with a significantly larger range of financial services including cash advances and credit cards. They also plan to build incorporation services, fraud protection, and more, diversifying its revenue away from payments and differentiating itself from its competitors.

To further expand its position, the company is looking to triple its presence in Ireland, and extend its services to countries with vast customer potential, including Brazil and India. Its latest venture, coming atop significant new funds, is to partner with OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT - a win-win collaboration that will monetize OpenAI’s flagship products and at the same time enhance Stripe with GPT-4, as it moves forwards with intentions to "build the payments foundation for tomorrow's AI economy."
