Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of professional design experience in an agency or design studio setting
  • Familiarity with UX/UI design principles and design systems
  • Hands-on UI design experience
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in brand identity, digital design, and creative execution
  • Expert level skill in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign); proficiency in Figma
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to contribute to projects in a cross-functional and fast-paced environment

What the job involves

  • As a senior visual designer for the Dow Jones Brand Marketing team, you will play an important role in defining and supporting the visual identity and UI design of our brands across various marketing channels
  • Your design work will contribute to the growth and engagement of our audience, leveraging your skills to communicate the integrity, intelligence, and innovation that Dow Jones and The Wall Street Journal represents
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and play an integral role in the development and execution of creative projects
  • Brand Design & Visual Identity: Contribute to the development and implementation of Dow Jones’ visual identity across digital, print, and environmental branding. Ensure design consistency and quality standards across different touch points
  • Creative Collaboration: Work with marketing, editorial, and product teams to develop visually compelling creative strategies that enhance brand recognition and drive engagement
  • Design Execution: Hands-on design work, including the creation and scaling of marketing collateral, digital campaigns, event branding, and promotional materials
  • Design for Digital Platforms: UI Design for web / app environments, and digital assets while meeting and exceeding digital-first / mobile-first and accessibility standards
  • Content Design: Translate content wireframes into visual designs, develop content wireframes in response to copy and copy strategy, have keen awareness of how design and language are working together
  • Innovation: Stay informed about design trends, technologies, and best practices. Suggest innovative design solutions that enhance user experience and engagement
  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Work closely with stakeholders across the organization to ensure design aligns with business goals and editorial standards
