Who you are

  • You must have demonstrated success in marketing strategy & campaigns in Germany previously at a grocery retailer, e-commerce or an FMCG
  • You have strong interpersonal relationships, negotiating and communications skills

  • 7+ years experience in Marketing for the German market, in a fast-paced environment, preferably of a well-known brand in retail, or e-commerce, or food delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze local trends and build impactful & highly relevant campaigns that resonate with the target audience
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Business fluency in German and English

What the job involves

  • In your role as a Marketing Campaign Lead (m/f/d), you will fully own the communications and campaigns to drive business growth and brand awareness in Germany- Flink’s biggest market
  • You will be responsible for the strategic direction and overall management of the marketing campaigns
  • Fully own Flink’s communication with its German consumers through marketing campaigns, market analyses, trends and best practices
  • Strategize and implement campaigns and communication angles across all our marketing channels to drive business growth and brand awareness
  • Lead a team of 2 FTE responsible for online and offline marketing activations locally, including content creation, campaign launch and execution and cross-department collaborations
  • Manage the tracking and measurement of the campaigns and translate measurable outcomes into new insights
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure marketing efforts are aligned with overall strategy
  • Act as a local brand ambassador by having the customer interest in mind, and advocating for it across the board

Online grocery delivery services in Europe range from early supermarket-specific services to the more recent success of mobile food-ordering applications. However despite thier proliferation grocery delivery services still face long waiting lists and logistic bottlenecks, with faster solutions coming with a compromise on the range and quality of products.

Flink provides an online website and mobile application for the delivery of fresh fruit, vegetables, and other organic-quality groceries to European homes. The company provides its services to 100 different European cities across Germany, the Netherlands and France, and claims that its grocery deliveries are provided at supermarket prices within 10 minutes of ordering.

Flink is one of the few remaining independent grocery delivery startups in Europe, with most of the others either having been acquired or shut down. German rival Gorillas for instance ate through its initial investments and was taken over in 2022. Flink has been playing a more conservative strategy, aiming for more steady growth, but had to receive a fresh investment round of 100 million euros in 2024 to help it outlast competitors. Rumors of a potential merger with competitor companies indicate the lengths that Flink is going to maintain its dominance in a market that, at present, is suffering from lower demand and higher costs.
