Role
Who you are
- Have 2+ years of software engineering experience in production environments
- Strong programming skills, particularly in Go and Python, with a focus on solid software engineering fundamentals
- Experience working on enterprise-level billing, finance, or other business-critical software
- Proficiency in event-driven architecture and modern API technologies such as gRPC and GraphQL
- Detail-oriented and a strong commitment to testing and quality assurance
- Comfortable developing in Linux environments and working with containerized applications
Desirable
- Experience deploying and managing applications in Kubernetes environments, including developing Kubernetes operators/controllers
- Deep knowledge of at least one major cloud provider, with a preference for AWS
- Familiarity with RBAC and ACLs is a plus
What the job involves
- We are seeking a skilled software engineer to join our team focused on building and maintaining Timescale's billing, pricing, and packaging software solutions
- As part of our close-knit, all-remote team, you will have the opportunity to work on critical services that power our managed TimescaleDB cloud offerings
- Ownership of features and services from inception through deployment and ongoing production support
- Design, develop, and maintain Golang-based services, with a strong emphasis on enabling business software solutions

It offers this through TimescaleDB, its own open-source time-series SQL database which, unlike many competitors, is built with PostgreSQL. The product’s broad client applications include finance, logistics, and space.
Timescale landed $110 million in Series C investment in 2022, and became a unicorn at a valuation of over $1 billion. This signifies Timescale’s thriving business on top of the explosive rise of time-series data - the fastest growing database market segment - and promises a strong tailwind for the business.
The company serves over 500 customers and tens of thousands of other organizations use TimescaleDB in the community, including companies like IBM, Microsoft, Pfizer, and Samsung, among others.
Timescale is now focused on further growth by increasing investments in product, engineering, and R&D, and broadening its efforts in serving the Timescale community, customers, and developers. It is also hiring across multiple teams to continue scaling the company.
