Role

Who you are

  • We are looking for a well rounded engineer with a blend of software engineering and performance engineering experience
  • 3-5 years of relevant commercial experience
  • Software development experience (Java / Python / Groovy etc)
  • Familiarity with development and CICD pipeline tools such as GIT, IntelliJ, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins etc
  • Experience with Performance engineering and system profiling
  • Performance test planning, setup, and execution
  • Good knowledge of Java ergonomics and GC behavior
  • UNIX or Linux experience
  • Automation skills (using Python / Shell scripting etc)
  • Good Knowledge of SQL and No-SQL databases
  • Good understanding of cloud architecture (AWS / GCP )
  • Ability to distill volumes of data, analyze results, and diagnose problems
  • Experience with JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar
  • Knowledge of Load, Stress, and Scalability Testing
  • Experience in Time series databases (eg. Influxdb)
  • Experience with JProfiler, Jconsole, and system tools sar/nmon/top
  • Experience in using visualization tools (eg. Grafana / Cloudwatch etc)
  • Understanding of application and architecture code profiling
  • You have a passion for software development and relish delivering scalable solutions
  • You love to address problems with code and prove it through automated tests
  • You advocate for performance testing in SDLC
  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • You are a collaborative teammate
  • You are continuously growing your skills

What the job involves

  • The OMSPERFENG team of performance engineers and software engineers works in close alignment with back-end development teams to ensure our services are successful and reliable at scale
  • The team develops performance monitoring/test-bed tools and employs those tools to evaluate the performance and efficiency of our back-end services
  • Our projects include internal tooling for performance/scalability evaluations/regression and certifications, such as driving workload execution, service data collection and metrics generation for automated system analysis and monitoring
  • Our team is also involved in design discussions with other teams, ensuring performance and reliability is baked into our software architecture
  • The role would be around 80% Development and 20% Performance Engineering

In 2021, it purchased the employee feedback platform Peakon in response to the growing need for managers to be able to survey workers and collect satisfaction data without face-to-face meetings. The company has also bought and developed many financial tools and HR management tools.

The company’s goal is to provide end-to-end back office services and while there are other providers, such as UKG Pro and Ceridian HCM, Workday’s broad offering helps them to stand out. Though it faced a tough global market in 2023 and has shed some of its headcount, Workday has seen a 6.5% gain in value in the first quarter of 2024. It is now focusing on growth and developing the AI capabilities of its platform. .
