What the job involves

  • The Okta Customer Marketing and C-Suite engagement team is growing, and we’re looking for a customer marketing specialist to support the team and drive references

  • In collaboration with Sales, this role will identify and connect suitable customer references with prospects related to specific sales opportunities, expediting the sales process
  • Additional responsibilities include building a steady pipeline of new references, scaling the customer reference program, and driving revenue growth
  • Nurturing relationships with customer advocates and measuring the impact of the reference program are also key responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate the One-to-Many Customer Reference events, to support GTM teams and the scale reference program
  • Nurture and strengthen relationships with customer advocates, resulting in customer marketing activations
  • Coordinate and develop customer content ( i.e., blogs, case studies etc.) used to enable the field and accelerate sales cycles
  • Provide supplementary support for Customer Marketing initiatives, tasks, and projects (i.e., Oktane surge)

Our take

Okta started off as an identity company where organisations, large and small, could tap into the company to have a single sign-on interface to access all cloud applications now centralised. Okta has since expanded to provide identity management at the device as well as the server level.

The new approach towards network security is increasingly based on identification and authentication, and Okta is on track to become the go-to vendor in the space. They aim to do so by developing products that enable people to access applications and other tools more smoothly and securely than ever before.

Okta has taken strides towards expansion through significant employee growth and shuffling executive leadership. The company has also made lateral moves such as tackling governance concerns, opening up new paths for revenue.
