Otta's take

Sam Franklin

CEO of Otta

iBanFirst is a Brussels-based fintech start-up that offers an online multi-currency transaction platform so its clients can pay and receive payments in any currency whilst avoiding foreign exchange risks.

The company serves as an alternative to the traditional bank offer, enabling a payment experience and package of financial services that cater the daily needs of small-to-medium sized enterprises. By having its own core banking infrastructure, the company has a competitive advantage in the roll-out of its technological roadmap, including the release of new products. One such release is its payment tracker, which improves security levels and thereby strengthens trust between clients and suppliers.

Following Series B funding, the company saw tremendous growth, tripling its payment volume and developing its footprint in Europe after acquiring Dutch and German competitors. More recent funding will be invested into continuing to deliver solutions whilst expanding its SME and mid-tier offerings.
