What the job involves
- Engineers are encouraged to work across multiple areas of the company, and as a result, all engineers and researchers share the title "Member of Technical Staff."
- Designing and implementing evaluations for new capabilities
- Creating new and enhancing existing human and synthetic data generation methods and pipelines
- Experimenting with novel fine-tuning and reinforcement learning techniques
- Optimizing training data quality and data mixture to improve evaluation metrics
- Innovating new ideas that bring us closer to our goal: Developing AI systems that can accurately understand the universe and create new knowledge
Application process
- If your application passes this stage, you will be invited to a 15-minute interview (“phone interview”) during which a member of our team will ask some basic questions
- If you clear the initial phone interview, you will enter the main process, which consists of four technical interviews:
- Coding assessment in a language of your choice
- Systems design: Translate high-level requirements into detailed plans for data collection, evaluation metrics, and specific fine-tuning experiments
- Systems hands-on: Demonstrate practical skills in a live problem-solving session
- Project deep-dive: Present your past exceptional work and your vision with xAI to a small audience
- Meet and greet with the wider team
- Our goal is to finish the main process within one week
- All interviews will be conducted via Google Meet
