What the job involves

  • We’re looking for founding members of “Survey Platform”, a new team of our Growth Platform engineering group
  • You’ll take ownership of our survey tools and be pivotal in driving the platform’s future direction
  • The Growth Platform team builds tools, infrastructure, and platforms to enable other teams to drive user engagement and growth, and to improve their user experience
  • Impact & Mission, join a brand-new team in a rapidly growing engineering group in Pinterest's largest international office. Take leadership and establish the survey platform, clients, and infrastructure
  • Pinterest Global Growth, build tools to increase our product relevance and understanding around the world, working with our talented partners in marketing, data science, research, and core product teams
  • Feature & Platform Development, work in Android, and also have the opportunity to learn all parts of the stack
  • Improve the Survey Platform to handle more types of use cases, while serving hundreds of millions of requests daily
  • Modernize the survey frontend clients, fully utilizing our open-source Gestalt design system
  • Dynamically build “self-serve / no code” survey experiences that have been configured and deployed in our admin portal
  • Unifying our communications channels (email, surveys, experiences…), to better target and personalize the in-app experience for our users
  • Collaboration, work in dynamic and diverse environments alongside engineering, product, international experts, marketing, research, data science, and growth teams
  • Evangelization across engineering to implement and adopt best practices to simplify our codebase and promote growth

Pinterest's emphasis on visual discovery has differentiated it from competitors and created a more positive and fulfilling experience for its users. Pinterest in many ways provides a respite from the ceaseless negativity that plagues social media such as Facebook and Twitter, and this is perhaps responsible for its userbase expanding to 450 million users in 2022, driven by uptake mostly outside of North America.

Pinterest has not been immune to woes affecting the global tech sector and made about 5% of its workforce redundant at the end of 2022 and the start of 2023. Having restructured to face a challenging climate, it is well-positioned to resume its growth, which has increased consistently year on year. Its immediate goals are to continue to grow its user base and expand the uptake of its short video product, which it aims to monetize.
