What the job involves

  • You drive the product strategy for SAAS tools- focussed on colleague needs, product analytics, financial targets and external industry innovation
  • You work closely with procurement and finance colleagues to optimise cost-to-serve and ensure that a backlog of training, workflow and integration development and configuration is aligned with the digital experience requirements of over 10,000 people delivering plan zero
  • Being user focussed and translating business needs into a clear vision, epics and user stories
  • Up to date on market and industry trends
  • Prioritising effectively to achieve maximum value
  • Creating and maintaining product roadmap
  • Aligning partners with strategic direction
  • Facilitating knowledge sharing across partners
  • Your key outcomes will be to:
  • Build a deep understanding of current and future internal stakeholder needs
  • Own the strategy for how to enable all internal stakeholders to leverage productivity capabilities
  • Define and drive the roadmap for internal tooling across the full lifecycle of digital experience
  • Identify opportunities for the highest leverage across all stakeholders
  • Collaborate across OVOTech teams, internal and external stakeholders to make build vs buy recommendations for relevant parts of our digital experience
  • Determine if and how to integrate digital experience capabilities into other internal applications as needed

On average, home energy represents 26% of our carbon footprint. Ovo Energy wants to bring this to zero by providing cheaper, greener and simpler energy to customers. They are analysing meter data to deliver easy, personalised actions, turning electric vehicles into power stations with clever chargers, and building energy-efficient heaters. For households, their offering is organised into four different energy plans. that include interest rewards on energy credit balance.

In 2020, OVO completed the acquisition of SSE Energy Services' retail arm for £500 million, meaning that the challenger brand now has around 4 million customers in the UK.

While helping Ovo members halve their carbon footprints, the company is also working towards becoming a net zero carbon business by 2035. The challenges ahead for the company include encouraging consumer behaviour change, shifting towards subscription models for home energy use.
