Who you are

  • Professional Degree (Bachelors’ degree, MBA, M.A., M.S., or another post-graduate degree)
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in digital marketing, ecommerce, product marketing or consumer marketing with a track record of delivering consumer focused campaigns in technology marketing
  • Demonstrated experience launching and building consumer-facing features and marketing campaigns – preferably in consumer products, media or e-commerce industries
  • Business fluency in written and verbal English

Desirable

  • Business fluency in written and verbal European language(s)
  • Experience using data and metrics to make business decisions
  • Expertise in customer targeting, acquisition marketing and/or targeting methods
  • Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams to deliver and initiate projects (including merchandising, product, content, design, BI, finance, legal, QA)
  • Strong drive for results, with the ability to persuade and motivate multiple stakeholders and leadership
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

What the job involves

  • This position is a 14-month fixed-term contract
  • Based in Berlin, Audible is looking for an Amazon Devices Marketing Manager
  • You will lead our initiatives to offer the Audible service on Amazon Devices (incl. Alexa devices, Fire tablets, Kindle eReaders, Fire TV – more to come)
  • Your goal will be to provide the best possible customer experience and highest visibility for Audible on current and future devices
  • As Amazon Devices Marketing Manager EU, you will operate from a company-wide perspective and lead cross-functional and cross-business projects, as you will be Audible’s key stakeholder for multiple international teams as well as to the EU leadership
  • This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, customer-obsessed and analytical marketer to drive acquisition and awareness of Audible in one of the fastest growing channels at Amazon
  • Develop a strategy for Alexa, Fire, and E-Reader devices with a focus on acquisition and engagement initiatives, while setting and continuously managing the right expectations with all relevant stakeholders across Audible and Amazon
  • Cultivate and leverage relationships with strategic Amazon teams in 4 countries to influence and prioritize opportunities for Audible
  • Drive business case development – bring together customer insights, research, financial data and analytics to develop a perspective on revenue and profitability potential for new to marketplace initiatives
  • Work with the Product Management, Engineering, and UX teams to align on features and product roadmaps
  • Utilize data/analytics to continuously improve and make sound business decisions, but know how to make the call when all the data isn’t there
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impair the organization’s ability to meet its strategic, financial and technical goals
  • Collaborate with Finance, Analytics and Data Science to define and measure success

The company is present in numerous verticals, including cloud computing with Amazon Web Services, AI with its range of Alexa devices and a global marketplace more commonly referred to as 'the everything store'. Acquisitions include Ring, Twitch, Whole Foods Market, and IMDb.

More recently, Amazon has been focused on leading the "third wave in digital advertising". Many businesses are now shifting ad dollars to retailers, which before would have been spent with online media platforms. Amazon's seen great success in the space, with its revenue from advertising now higher than its Amazon Prime membership scheme, audiobooks and digital music combined. This growth is particularly impressive considering its digital ad rivals (like Snap, Alphabet, and Meta) have suffered declines due to wider macroeconomic factors and Apple's iOS privacy changes.

Despite its dominant market position, Amazon will continue to be challenged over the next decade, including sustaining AWS's cloud dominance in the face of Google and Microsoft. On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
