What the job involves

  • Based out of our London office (LABS House), this role will be focused on generating and qualifying leads that will build Airwallex’s SME and Growth sales pipeline across the French market
  • As a French-speaking Sales Development Representative (SDR), you should be excited about engaging with prospects to find out about their needs, adept at identifying high-value opportunities and capable of managing early sales funnel activities
  • With the commission structure for this role, there is a significant upside for won opportunities
  • Initiate contact with potential customers through email outreach or cold calling and follow up on designated touchpoints in a customer journey
  • Move quality leads through the funnel while connecting them to a salesperson and arranging meetings
  • Develop relationships with prospects to uncover needs through effective questioning to qualify interest and viability to prepare hand-off to sales
  • Update activity and contact information within the CRM system and support reporting efforts
  • Inform and recommend outreach strategies and best practices through testing various types of touchpoints
  • Contribute to building out best practices in this area as we grow the team
  • Collaborate and provide feedback and insights to Marketing to help improve targeting and messaging
  • Work closely with Account Executives on the handover & first call

Business is increasingly globalised, so there are many more companies selling to a broader base of international customers. These businesses need to be able to transfer foreign revenues back to their home currency, but this can be an expensive and time-consuming process. Airwallex exists to make this process painless and is aiming to disrupt the foreign exchange market for businesses the same way Transferwise did for consumers.

While it counts traditional banks as competitors, Airwallex stands out by its pricing, saving clients as much as 90% on foreign exchange rates vs. traditional banks. It also provides a range of financial solutions including corporate cards and expense management software, as well as a range of integrations into most commonly used accounting packages. This has seen its product adopted by over 20,000 corporate customers.

Founded in 2015 in Melbourne, Australia, Airwallex has grown to be one of the leaders in fintech with a valuation exceeding $5 billion and a global reach. Recently focusing on the APAC region, the company has expanded into Singapore and Malaysia, in addition to its increasing its presence in Hong Kong and mainland China.
