Who you are

  • BA or BFA in Copywriting or related field
  • Extraordinary writing skills
  • World-class portfolio of work
  • 5+ years experience in copywriting in a creative agency or client-side group; B2B / tech experience is a plus
  • 3+ years experience in marketing work with best in class portfolio
  • Hands-on expertise in developing creative solutions and campaigns across all mediums: advertising, film, websites, mobile and graphic design, Corporate ID, interactive, social campaigns, content marketing and events
  • Outstanding presentation skills and proven ability to produce and pitch world-class strategic presentations to all levels of an organization
  • Passion for copywriting, language, and creative direction
  • Experience managing marketing and editorial projects; experience in scriptwriting for video and voice a plus
  • You have the ability to think big while operating at the lowest level of detail
  • You should be a self starter while being comfortable working with teams, freelancers, agencies, and production partners
  • The right person for this role will be a passionate copywriter, a highly-motivated individual that loves digital storytelling, and has the experience, ability, and drive to manage multiple projects seamlessly
  • They must enjoy working cross-functionally, collaborating across multiple teams within Marketing

What the job involves

  • Okta is looking for an inspired copywriter to join our Digital Studio team to help us evolve our digital experiences across okta.com and auth0.com
  • Reporting into our Digital Art Director, Copy, this person will partner with other copywriters and designers to evolve our digital experience
  • Work closely with the Art Director, Copy and other digital copywriters on content strategy, ideation, and copy execution across digital creative briefs
  • Create breakthrough digital copy that is aligned to strategy and built to stand out
  • Work cross-functionally with Brand Strategy, Digital Strategy, Content, Campaigns, Product Marketing, Development, SEO, Web Production, and Events to connect and bring to life brand and product stories on our digital experiences
  • Partner with UX strategy and drive content strategy
  • Collaborate closely with designers and work in Figma to create innovative storytelling experiences
  • Leverage deep industry knowledge and a keen understanding of different audience types to write thoughtful and relevant copy across okta.com and auth0.com
  • Help establish and apply the Okta voice and tone across all work; ability to guide other writers / project owners on the voice and tone
  • Ensure consistency of the brand and apply the highest quality of copywriting across all projects
  • Tell product stories in a simple, interesting, and engaging way
  • Create, concept, inspire others, and roll up your sleeves while bringing creative ideas to life; deliver and receive feedback
  • Ability to apply systems thinking and understand user journeys and personas
  • Must be a self-starter while being comfortable working in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment with internal partners, freelancers, agencies, and production partners
  • Ensure the consistency of the brand and highest quality of copywriting across all projects
  • Develop messaging frameworks that meet project KPIs; test and iterate when necessary
  • The Studio team at Okta functions like an internal agency within the Marketing org. We are composed of creatives, strategists, producers and marketing managers alike
  • Our team’s focus is to lead the brand, tell powerful stories and inspire creative excellence
  • As a partner to the Digital team, we strive for shared KPIs, strategies and processes to activate our brand on our digital experiences and push the brand and business forward
