Company mission

Multiverse's goal is to break the expensive barrier between education and employment that is holding back companies and people.

Role

Who you are

  • Need for speed: You’ve held a senior people partnering role in a fast-paced, high-volume growth organisation that has been rapidly scaling, ideally with a presence in both the US and UK
  • Subject matter expertise: You have demonstrable experience of leading a people partnering strategy, and have a deep understanding of how strategic people practices reduce risk and enhance performance
  • Passion: You believe in the power of people teams to build thriving companies and cultures. You stop at nothing to make sure that this is felt in every team in the business
  • Right-hand person: you know how to build relationships with managers of all levels - you’re empathetic, compassionate, effective and commercially minded
  • Thought leader: we’re not looking for your traditional people partner - we’re looking for someone who sees people operations as a product and who constantly innovates to improve the employee experience
  • Inspo: You are an inspiring people partner, someone that people inherently trust and who earns that trust
  • People partnering guru: You know your stuff in the people space and are a leader on the best, most innovative people practices (plus some of the more boring bits, too)
  • The job is never done: You pride yourself on your attention to detail and never dropping the ball. You understand that you can only expect excellence if you demonstrate it yourself

What the job involves

  • At Multiverse, our people team is here to support every individual to fulfill their potential - and therefore Multiverse’s
  • After a period of intense scale, we are now reaching the size and maturity to take our people partnering strategy to the next level. You will work with our leadership team in enabling our highly engaged, ambitious, and intelligent Multiversers to achieve more than they ever thought possible
  • You will get to form deep partnering relationships with our C-suite and VPs, to ensure a consistent Multiverse approach, tailored to suit the teams’ unique needs. We have brilliant foundations already in place and a team of excellent people partners to lead and partner alongside - we would love to meet someone ready to join us for an amazing ride
  • Build and execute an effective end-to-end partnering strategy, implementing specific programmes to drive performance, engagement and well-being for your client group
  • Develop, optimise, and assess scalable people processes that deliver in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Work with the People Experience and People Performance Leaders to ensure that DEI is at the heart of what we do, and embedded into all our processes
  • Work with the Senior Leaders in your orgs to ensure that our hiring planning and organisation growth support our planned scale
  • Optimise role design, compensation philosophies, and incentive plans to drive growth and performance, for non-traditional & unique roles
  • Lead on complex ER matters that are escalated beyond our ER team, supporting a resolution that leads to the best outcomes for all
  • Design and deliver custom career development approaches, L&D programmes, succession planning and engagement action planning activities

Our take

In today's tech-driven workplace, skills like digital marketing, software engineering, product design, and data analysis are pivotal. Traditional pathways to acquiring these skills are evolving, with coding schools like Makers Academy challenging the necessity of a formal Computer Science degree.

Recognizing the need for inclusive pathways, apprenticeships have gained prominence, spurred by government mandates like the 2016 levy. Multiverse (formerly WhiteHat) exemplifies this shift, offering opportunities for all to reskill and thrive in the tech industry.

Embracing a mission of accessibility and innovation, Multiverse's recent strategic moves, including acquiring Californian AI firm, Searchlight and attracting top-tier talent, underscores its commitment to excellence. Partnering with industry giants like Google and Facebook, Multiverse is driving transformative change, democratizing access to tech education.

Diversity & Inclusion at Multiverse

Siobhan Randell headshot

Siobhan Randell (Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion)

  • We want to be a leader in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), so we’re working hard to drive the change we want to see in the world, inside Multiverse.
  • Everything we do in the DEI space is undertaken with the goal of being representative of the geographies in which we operate – and our apprentice community. Gender diversity has been a long-term challenge for the tech world. We're proud that 55% of our UK Team identify as women, this increases to 64% of our Global Leadership Team (director level and above). We're also proud of our thriving LGBTQQIAAP community, comprising 11% of our UK Team.
  • We're committed to improving the diversity of our workforce, at all levels. We continue to invest in early talent through our in-house apprenticeship scheme – something we know is a fantastic route into our organization for exceptional talent from a diversity of backgrounds.
  • Last year we identified improving the diversity of our Global Leadership Team (director level+) internally as an area of focus. Steps that we took included introducing robust DEI monitoring processes, rolling out Inclusive Recruitment Training to all staff involved in the hiring, and launching our first internal, Global Leadership Accelerator program.
  • We’re proud that in the last 12 months, the representation of colleagues from ethnic minority backgrounds at director+ levels, globally, has increased from 6% to 19%. This is good progress but we still have work to do and are committed to building a leadership team that is representative of our colleagues and of the communities we serve.
