Role
Who you are
- Extensive Experience in Automation: Proven track record in designing and implementing automation frameworks and tools, with a strong understanding of scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Go
- Cloud Expertise: Deep knowledge and hands-on experience working in multi-cloud environments, including the ability to design solutions that operate across these platforms
- Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify operational inefficiencies, develop innovative solutions, and implement them effectively, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Advanced Tooling Proficiency: Expertise in using and integrating tools for monitoring, alerting, and observability, such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Elasticsearch, to enhance system visibility and reliability
- Technical Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams, driving the adoption of best practices in automation, tooling, and operational excellence, while fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
Desirable
- Security Knowledge: Understanding of security best practices in automated and multicloud environments, with the ability to design and implement secure automation solutions
- Experience with Containerization: Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes, enabling efficient management and deployment of containerized applications

- Develop and Integrate Tooling Solutions: Create and implement custom tools that enhance monitoring, alerting, and incident management, ensuring rapid and efficient response to operational issues
- Build Robust Observability Integrations: Develop and implement comprehensive observability solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing systems, providing deep insights into operational health and enabling proactive management of cloud infrastructure
- Manage Multicloud Environments: Design and implement automation and tooling solutions that operate seamlessly across AWS, GCP, and Azure, ensuring consistency, reliability, and efficiency in a diverse multicloud environment
Our take
Businesses have increasingly been taking advantage of AI systems to process the vast amont of data they hold and produce, but the rapidity and sheer volume of AI data requests puts a significant load on company infrastructure. Redis, a database-as-a-service provider, exists to ease this strain, managing databases for business-critical applications with its cloud-based data platform.
This isn't a new industry and Redis faces competition from mainstays of the sector such as Oracle and Microsoft. However Redis stands out with its speed, cutting the database response time to less than a millisecond, easily outstripping its competitors. Founded in 2011, it is now the most popular database on AWS and is used by around 25% of professional developers. It counts Microsoft, Plaid, FedEx and many other enterprise companies as customers.
Redis plans to expand into emerging markets and sees the adoption of cloud-native systems by the world's biggest companies as inevitable. It has forged partnerships with Amazon and Google and is growing through acquisition, for instance in its 2022 purchase of RESP.app which served part of its growing ecosystem.
