  • We are looking for an account executive to join our sales team to manage key accounts and regions
  • We are looking for a results driven Account Executive to deliver revenue growth through consultative selling into leading US retailers
  • This person will be responsible for generating opportunities with net new retailers and existing clients
  • Reporting to the VP of Sales, this candidate will be a key player in Focal’s go-to-market team tasked with executing value-based selling and coordinating complex enterprise deals
  • Intimately understand the needs of our retail customers in order to prescribe solutions to solve those problems
  • Initiate and develop long-term trusted relationships with key named accounts in your territory
  • Orchestrate internal teams to support complex sales cycles
  • Use prospecting techniques to build pipeline and reach decision makers
  • Ability to clearly articulate the ROI of our solutions
  • Develop and execute account plans
  • Maintain accurate opportunity forecasts
  • Implement mutual action plans with customers to ensure timelines are met
  • Qualify opportunities to focus company resources effectively

Our take

Even in the largest retailers, inventory systems are usually manual, with staff checking inventory to get an idea of stock numbers, spoilage and other metrics. These are slow and introduce a high degree of human error, as well as being difficult to carry out around shoppers.

Focal Systems leverages a network low cost, ruggedized cameras and computer vision to scan a store's shelves automatically, alerting the backroom of the need to restock an area of the store in real time. In a time when retailers are facing staff shortages and supply chain issues, this kind of automation is in high demand, as is evidenced by Focal System's customer base which includes the likes of Walmart, ShopRite and Piggly Wiggly.

Having raised an impressive amount of funding, Focal Systems is doubling down on R&D and expanding its global sales and engineering teams. As more brick and mortar retailers begin to adopt automated solutions, Focal Systems is a strong position to continue its growth.
