Who you are

  • We are looking for someone with a strong depth of knowledge, able to confidently provide robust, trusted counsel to stakeholders, but with the confidence to constructively challenge and influence them
  • If you are a strategic leader with a track record of partnering and influencing senior C suite level stakeholders, have commercial acumen, and are comfortable in dealing with continuous change and ambiguity, we would love to hear from you

What the job involves

  • We are looking for a strategic business partner to join our People Team on a FTC, covering Maternity leave
  • Based in our support centre in London, you will be a trusted partner to the Chief Customer Officer, their Functional directors and Heads of department, and our Company Secretary understanding business performance measures and identifying how you can strategically support, influence, and drive this. Instrumental in driving business change and ensuring your customers have an organisational structure fit for purpose
  • You will embed our talent agenda and deliver effective workforce planning to ensure our customers have the resource they need
  • You will engage your leadership teams on the importance of delivering the people strategy and adopting a people-first mindset. You will also be highly capable and knowledgeable at supporting in ER issues. Experience of working with a commercial marketing and digital product team will be ideal to understand the unique challenges
  • Join us and help build and embed a culture of engaged and high-performing teams, that places the people experience at the heart of what we do

Legacy fashion retailer New Look is a staple of the British high street, dating back to the late 60s and with 440 high street shops across the UK. Over the years, the brand has entered into and left international markets, was purchased by investment holding company Brait SE, and has gradually improved its ethical and sustainable supply chain from a previous 2% of stock to more than 50%.

Of course, there is still a way to go on the shedding of New Look’s previous “fast fashion” designation, but withdrawal from the international market and a notable reduction of its stores in the UK suggest a more focused strategy moving forward. In 2022, New Look partnered with Primer, a no-code automation platform for digital payments. This is further evidence of New Look’s expansion of its digital marketplace, in line with the fact that 4 out of 5 UK shoppers are digital buyers.
