Role

Who you are

  • Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience working with data, with a proven track record of delivering actionable insights mandatory
  • Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis
  • Intermediate knowledge of SQL, with a demonstrated ability to learn new technical skills quickly
  • Familiarity with data visualization platforms (Tableau preferred)
  • Comfort with analyzing complex, high-volume, and multi-dimensional datasets from diverse sources
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python or R) is desirable but not essential
  • Leverage AI tools and techniques to improve reporting processes, automate repetitive tasks, and generate predictive insights
  • Self-starter with a strong ability to independently research and solve problems
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks in a dynamic, stakeholder-driven environment
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive approach to offering ideas and solutions

What the job involves

  • The Customer Insights team is core the success of the Customer function within Cartrawler
  • Customer Insight's purpose is to drive objective decision making
  • Customer Insights Analysts primarily use SQL, Excel and Tableau platforms
  • These are relatively easy to learn so if you have mastered data insights on any platform (e.g. R, Python, Qlik/Looker, SAS, Spark, BigQuery, etc.) and have a desire to change the world with data, keep reading – we’re interested
  • We also drive insight using R and Python
  • You will be a key member of the Customer Insights Team with a specific role in leading data reporting suites and reporting for the Customer Function
  • You will be working with a great bunch of individuals who are passionate about the customer experience and business impact driven through data
  • We help our colleagues across the business derive insights from very large datasets from our Snowflake data warehouse
  • You will own key reporting areas and encourage a data culture within the function
  • In charge of building automated insight reports to help stakeholders self-serve and explore the data needed to improve their operation
  • There are opportunities to grow and shape your role at CarTrawler over time. This includes opportunities to work on new projects and learn new skills if necessary to deliver our committed insights
  • You will work with teams across the function to understand our operating model
  • You will be able to communicate effectively with key stakeholders to help them determine their requirements
  • You will be responsible for making improvements to, and maintaining, existing dashboards
  • You will develop ad-hoc and new reporting, working together with the cross-functional teams
  • You will ensure stakeholders have the necessary scheduled and ad-hoc reports to allow their operation to function
  • You will assist with the functions forecasting models to ensure quality end of year forecasts
  • Work with Functional Senior Management to understand stakeholders requirements and dependency
  • Data Science and wider insights team. Support inter-departmental ways-of-working and the best practice approach to data analysis and tools
  • IT Services in ensuring to support correct and up-to-date data infrastructure and permissions in place

Our take

CarTrawler provides car rental and mobility solutions to travel industry players, enabling them to supplement their revenue and improve the experiences of their customers. It runs what is essentially a B2B marketplace for car rentals, through which airlines and travel agents can offer their clients end-to-end travel options.

Like many of its travel industry peers, the company has felt the pinch in recent years due to the after-effects of the pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis. Despite this, CarTrawler has remained positive that it can capture further success in the new-look economy.
