Role

Who you are

  • We look for team members that are strong communicators, have a growth mindset, and are motivated and persistent in achieving our goals
  • The role is perfect for strong team players that want to have impact across the company and with our customers
  • The ideal candidate is hungry to learn, excited to cross-functionally collaborate, driven to deliver optimal customer experiences, and is excited to learn from and teach others
  • You will be excited for an opportunity that allows you to be an important member of an exceptional company, be willing to ask questions when you’re unsure, and take initiative when you’re passionate about a topic/solution/process
  • Finally, you’ll need to be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, willing to challenge the status quo, and a strong team player
  • 2+ years in a customer-facing role
  • Technical background either through experience or education
  • Conversant in SQL or willing to learn the basics and a few more advanced topics
  • Strong discovery and interpersonal skills
  • Intellectual curiosity, high ambition, and humility
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing work environment
  • Thorough understanding of the technology industry and its players

What the job involves

  • The Customer Success Engineering role is demanding and requires strong organizational skills and an ability to multitask
  • You’ll work directly with all users to ensure they can get the most value from the platform
  • This may include answering questions in Intercom, Slack, on the phone, or through email
  • The nature of the work is technical and requires an understanding of how to read API documentation, how the standard suite of SaaS tools work (e.g. CRMs, ESPs, ERPs, etc...), and the basic building blocks of customers use data
  • The Customer Success Engineering role is also designed to provide broad exposure across the organization, including tight collaboration with Solutions Architects, Solutions Engineers, Marketing, Engineering, and Operations
  • Hightouch is still a startup, which translates to pitching in across the organization and wearing many hats as we grow
  • Everyone at Hightouch plays an important role in our growth and this position is at the forefront of our efforts to drive an exceptional for every user
  • We’re of the firm belief that keeping customers promises is how we’ll win and we’re excited for this role to play an integral part of the customer journey

Our take

The use of data integration software involves combining data from different sources to provide users with a unified view. Due to the growing need to combine several heterogeneous data sources, along with the rise of cloud computing, demand for effective data integration tools and services has been increasing.

While Fivetran is one of the most prominent platforms companies use to “extract, transform, and load” data into its warehouse, Hightouch does the opposite of that, what has become known as “reverse ETL.” For example, a company could use Fivetran to get the data into its warehouse and then use Hightouch to get the data from the warehouse and into Salesforce.

Hightouch serves a diverse range of clients, from B2B giants like Kong, Plaid, and Mattermost to B2C leaders like Nando's and Autotrader. With recent acquisitions including the product-led sales automation startup Workbase and the knowledge management startup Whatis, alongside an expanded partnership with Snowflake, Highlight continues to enhance its capabilities and provide seamless data activation for its growing customer base.

Company benefits

  • Hub & Remote friendly: Join our global team, either remotely or in one of our four in-person hubs. For those near a hub, enjoy complimentary lunches on Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Flexible PTO: Downtime is just as important as on time and your teammates will support you while you relax and recharge
  • Wellness: We offer wellness days each quarter
  • Core benefits: For full-time US-based employees, we cover all health benefit premiums, 80% for dependents, and life insurance
  • Parental leave: We value and support the family planning process. We provide up to 16 weeks for parents
  • Professional development: We support employees for all learning resources needed to grow in their role (classes, books, conferences, etc)
  • Connectivity: We offer a $50 per month cell-phone or wifi connectivity stipend to all employees
  • Commuter: Commuter benefits of $50 are offered to both employees who come into the offices and to remote workers working outside of their home

Company values

  • Forever hungry: We are hungry and ambitious. We celebrate our accomplishments, but we’re never fully satisfied. We’re always figuring out how to collectively push ourselves further and do more. If we think we can grow the company 5x this year, the first question should be “why not 10x?"
  • Kindness: We want to create an environment where people feel actively welcomed, encouraged, and supported. People who aren’t kind aren’t tolerated— it’s just not worth it. We intrinsically believe in a deeper kindness as a core value, aside from its obvious benefits to the business
  • Efficient execution: Speed matters. We don’t have time for endless deliberation– most decisions are two-way doors. Move fast, adapt quickly. We take inspiration from others and don’t innovate where we don’t need to. We communicate clearly because time is precious. We parallelize to the greatest extent possible
  • Compassion: We listen to everyone and try to put ourselves in their shoes, regardless of our initial reaction to what they say. This applies to everyone– customers, prospects, partners, peers, etc
  • Impact driven: Everyone should be intrinsically motivated by business impact. We minimize distractions and prioritize our time based on what’s actually impactful to the business. We value people at all levels based on their impact above anything else
  • Raising the bar: We have high expectations for performance and believe in having exceptional talent in every position. We understand the value of great people. We look deeper than credentials, prioritize slope over y-intercept, and put in the hard work to find those that truly raise the bar
  • Humility: We are humble. Listening is mission critical— we are open to others’ perspectives and ideas. No work is beneath us. We also believe that humility leads to foresight. If we are not grounded and open minded, we blind ourselves from key opportunities and risks in every aspect of business
