Who you are

- Preferred experience: 7+ years as a fullstack software engineer, preferably in a startup or high growth company
- Education: A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science
- Technical skill set: Experience with object oriented programming and web app frameworks (we’re using Ruby on Rails and React)
- Fundamentals: A strong foundation in software development fundamentals
- Problem solving skills: An ability to identify technical issues and address them accordingly
What the job involves
- Ontra is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer reporting to one of our Engineering Managers
- We have exciting technical challenges ahead of us and are building a platform that is changing one of the largest industries in the world
- Most importantly, we are building an outstanding business with a product that creates an immense amount of value for our customers, and having a ton of fun doing it!
- Proactivity: Ensuring efficiency and performance for previously developed programs
- Develop and scale: Build, implement, and maintain web-based applications from the frontend to the backend using Ruby on Rails and React.JS
- Creating partnerships: Collaborate designers and product teams to understand and translate requirements and quickly identify and resolve product issues
- Ensure best practices: working closely with teammates and QA for code reviews and applying best practices to software development, leading to the delivery of high quality and well-tested software

Ontra (previously InCloudCounsel) slides in as a solution to this problem by pairing businesses with a network of freelance corporate lawyers to manage their routine legal work in a more cost-effective way.
In addition to enterprises, the company is an attractive proposition for lawyers who want a more flexible working life than Big Law can usually offer. Ontra attempts to avoid direct confrontation with Big Law by focusing more on routine work and document management tasks.
Following Ontra's healthy investment, the company has made some pretty big strategic moves - mainly driving product growth, onboarding top people onto its Board of Directors team and acquiring smaller companies like FundFormer and Captain to improve its product capabilities.
