Company mission

To shape both the future of work, and the future of productivity tools.

Role

Who you are

  • 5+ years of product management experience
  • You have a track record of working on API and developer products
  • You collaborate well cross-functionally—especially with design, engineering and developer relations
  • You have experience using quantitative (e.g., metrics, analytics) and qualitative data (e.g., research, user feedback) to inform product prioritization and decision-making
  • You have built, or are committed to building, diverse and inclusive product teams
  • You are the champion of the customer, while remaining laser focused on delivering significant business impact

Desirable

  • You have a Computer Science background or equivalent technical experience
  • You’ve built something on the Notion API
  • You've worked in a startup and care a lot about shaping (and working in) a high-impact, collaborative organization
  • You've heard of computing pioneers like Ada Lovelace, Douglas Engelbart, Alan Kay, and others—and understand why we're big fans of their work

What the job involves

  • Notion can be used for writing personal notes, making collaborative documents, publishing a wiki, for managing projects and more; it's used by individual consumers, small teams, and large enterprises alike
  • We’re looking for a senior product manager to lead and scale our Public API team. As a critical member of the Product team, you will drive the strategy and execution of Notion's API offerings, enabling developers and enterprises to build powerful integrations that enhance the capabilities of Notion for millions of users
  • You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering and Go-to-market (GTM) teams, to ensure that our APIs are not only robust and reliable but also delightful to use
  • Own the API Roadmap: You’ll define the vision and strategy for Notion's Public API, prioritizing features and enhancements based on developer needs, market trends, and business objectives
  • Customer-Centric Development: You’ll engage deeply with our developer community, partners, and enterprise customers to understand their needs, pain points, and aspirations. Use these insights to inform product decisions and priorities
  • Champion Developer Experience: You'll advocate for a seamless, delightful developer experience—from onboarding through integration and ongoing support

Our take

Managing busy workflows using fragmented systems can be a headache for both individuals and businesses. Notion aims to combat this problem by enabling users to work from one central hub, customizing their workflows to suit their exact needs. This includes managing files, scheduling tasks, saving documents, writing to-do-lists, and setting reminders.

The company counts enterprise companies such as McDonald’s, The Wall Street Journal, Verizon, Samsung, and IBM as its customers. In spite of economic uncertainty, Notion reached a $2 billion valuation in 2020, helped by record signups as more people were forced to work from home. Its value has since risen to over 5 times this value, an impressive reflection of its success.

The company has made a number of strategic acquisitions that, coupled with its enormous market value and enviable customer list, have Notion well-placed to continue dominating the market. That being said, the launch of Microsoft-built competitor Loop at the end of 2023 will put Notion's market dominance to the test.

Leadership

Ivan worked for Inkling for 2 years in Product, but was disappointed by the lack of a simple way of collaborating on projects. To fit this need, he co-founded Notion in 2013, serving as CEO since.
