Company mission

Quora's mission is to empower people to share and grow the world's knowledge.

Role

Who you are

  • Ability to be available for meetings and impromptu communication during Quora's "coordination hours" (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time)
  • 4+ years combined experience in Product Management or Engineering
  • Excellent communication skills and intuition for communication strategy at every level -- within teams, within the company, to users, to press, and other audiences
  • Experience building API products, developer ecosystems, and improving developer experiences
  • Adept at using qualitative and quantitative data to drive decisions

Desirable

  • A passion for AI and emerging technologies
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience ideal
  • 2+ years of Engineering experience before Product Management experience

What the job involves

  • We’re looking for a Product Manager to join the Creators and Developers team on Poe, which is responsible for integrating large Gen AI model providers products onto the platform, building scalable API solutions for small Gen AI model providers, and building solutions for all of the creators on Poe
  • In this role, you’ll own Poe’s approach to building the best environment for developers to create new and innovative Gen AI products
  • Even though we've experienced significant growth, we're still a small team where each PM needs to own a significant portion of the product experience, so in this role, you'll have the opportunity to drive company-level impact, influence overall company strategy, and interface regularly with product leadership and the executive team
  • Contribute to an early stage team in a fast-paced, startup environment focused on developing a compelling platform for Gen AI creators and developers
  • Manage project ambiguity, complexity and interdependencies in an organized and structured way and willing to do what it takes to make our product successful
  • Research and understand the latest in Gen AI in order to inform product priorities
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, design, product, sales, data science, and marketing teams to gather requirements for, define, build, release, and promote new products
  • Define objectives, metrics, and key results to help guide, prioritize, and measure the success of the new products
  • Analyze product performance to quantitative and qualitative feedback to guide new improvements

Our take

The vast majority of human knowledge is still not on the internet. Most of it is trapped in the form of experience in people's heads, or buried in books and papers. Quora is changing this.

For a decade now, Quora has been carefully cultivating an intelligent question and answer community; it’s quietly becoming a database of some of the most thoughtful and useful content on the web.

With its steadily increasing number of monthly users and a revenue stream funded by advertising and subscriptions, Quora is now worth over a billion dollars. It is further building on this success with the introduction of AI functionality, which allows subscribers to ask questions to bots powered by OpenAI and Anthropic models.
