Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 6+ years of PM experience or 10+ years of relevant experience in engineering, sales engineering or customer support
- A passion for creating practical products that deliver value for customers
- Product management experience in enterprise networking, cloud networking, network security
- Experience with SaaS and enterprise software delivery models
- Established practice of utilizing data and analytics to inform product decisions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to seamlessly pivot between strategic & tactical priorities
- Understanding of technical limitations and tradeoffs,
- The ability to analyze and anticipate market trends
Desirable
- Strong understanding of security and networking technologies in public clouds and in data centers
- Experience with segmentation, endpoint detection and response (EDR), Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) and other cybersecurity technologies, and machine learning methods and AI
- Knowledge of micro services, distributed computing, containers, K8s, etc
- Ability to influence technical discussions with engineering, architects and other PMs
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and simply to internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with public cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
- Experience in engineering or systems engineering
What the job involves
- As a Senior Product Manager at Illumio, you will lead the development of products that ensure that cyber attacks don’t spread to become cyber disasters
- To thrive in the Product Management organization at Illumio you will apply your technology agnostic product development experience to solving customer cybersecurity problems through the creation of technical solutions focused on Zero Trust and Segmentation
- Deliver products that protect our customers
- Lead product development initiatives through research, strategy, roadmap definition, and delivery
- Collaborate with engineering and customers to deliver solutions that drive adoption and growth
- Develop subject matter expertise within the Zero Trust space that establishes you as a resource for customers and cross functional peers
- Champion the voice of the customer into epics and user stories for scrum teams
- Play key role in developing product launch programs and you will author insightful presentations, papers, and blog entries with Illumio’s marketing team based on the solutions you are creating with your scrum teams
Our take
Cybersecurity remains an ongoing battle, with evolving cyberthreats and ever-more determined cybercriminals, and major data breaches such as the SolarWinds hack have the potential to cause widespread disruption. Illumio is taking a different approach to most of the mainstream security companies, with a process called "microsegmentation". This makes it easier to guard companies from security breaches, and contain any breaches that occur.
Detection of viruses is no longer considered sufficient to keep companies and individuals safe. Illumio takes a “zero trust” approach, in which everything is viewed as suspicious, a similar approach to that which is used by the White House. The company operates at the cutting edge of microsegmentation, focusing on protecting cloud datacenters and workloads. With more and more companies moving to the cloud, this approach is crucial.
Illumio also protects endpoints, partnering with big players such as Citrix, Amazon Web Services, and Splunk. A collaboration with Appgate, a Zero Trust secure access company, delivers the industry's first integrated Zero Trust Network Access and Segmentation solution, which can reduce risk across hybrid infrastructure, and proves Illumio's dedication to innovating the space. Additionally, the company announced a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), that is tailored to assist federal agencies in reducing risk.
