Who you are

  • 5+ years of project management experience in a talent agency, marketing agency, studio, TV network, or media company, with a strong focus on overseeing and managing talent deals after they’re finalized
  • You know how to bring talent into marketing or branded programs, and your work in social and digital campaigns shows your success
  • You have experience spotting new business opportunities in entertainment and handling them from start to finish
  • You work well with internal and external partners to reach multiple goals
  • You're passionate about fan communities and understand how important they are
  • You stay calm under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting
  • You’re comfortable using Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, and you’ve created presentations that use visuals and data
  • You communicate clearly and work well with people across departments and levels
  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field

What the job involves

  • We’re looking for a Talent Partnerships Manager with experience in managing talent projects and partnerships
  • Reporting to our Director of Talent & Brand Partnerships, you will support these projects and ensure smooth collaboration with teams across the business
  • We need a creative, collaborative, and strategic team player to help build strong talent relationships and expand Crunchyroll’s global brand
  • You will manage talent projects after deals are made, ensuring they align with business goals and meet deadlines
  • You will build and maintain talent relationships, oversee onboarding, track project progress, and ensure successful campaign outcomes
  • You will coordinate the creation and delivery of marketing materials, working closely with internal teams and talent representatives
  • You will resolve any issues during projects and ensure all contractual requirements are met, collaborating with legal and compliance teams
  • You will develop best practices for managing talent projects and improving partnerships

In recent decades, anime - encompassing Japanese, Korean, and Chinese animation 0 has transitioned from a niche interest to a formidable industry, boasting a global market worth approximately $30B. Despite this growth, distribution has historically posed challenges, with series and films often reaching overseas audiences through disparate channels, if at all. Crunchyroll emerged to address this issue by consolidating the largest collection of anime into a single streaming service.

Sony's acquisition of Crunchyroll in 2021 for $1.75B expanded the platform's reach, integrating Sony's extensive animation library into its offerings. this move also positioned Crunchyroll for heightened competition against streaming giant Netflix, known for its substantial investments in anime production and acquisition. Currently, Crunchyroll maintains an unrivaled library of anime content, boasting over 44,000 episodes that have attracted over 0M paying subscribers.

While Crunchyroll initially offered a free, ad-supported tier to its vast community, it appears poised to phase out this option, transitioning to a subscription-based model for all new series. Despite this shift, the platform has implemented a global reduction in fees to stimulate subscription uptake. The success of this strategy remains to be seen, but past experiences with companies like Hulu suggest that it may drive subscription growth and mitigate piracy
