Who you are

  • 8+ years of product management or product marketing experience for an enterprise-focused cybersecurity or networking company
  • Proven track record of marketing to a highly technical audience
  • Proven track record of creating product messaging and content
  • Deep understanding of the challenges that security or networking teams face
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical thinking and a desire for measurement, metrics, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to translate technical, complex concepts into easy-to-consume value propositions

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technical Field, Marketing
  • Knowledge or experience working with network security and/or cloud security products

What the job involves

  • We are looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager who can formulate the vision and strategy for accelerating Versa's portfolio of SASE products in a fast, emerging market
  • This is a highly visible cross-functional role where you will be at the forefront of defining Versa’s outbound strategy
  • This includes creating compelling messaging and positioning, launching new features, enabling the field, collaborating with business development and demand generation, and enabling partner marketing
  • Be the expert in the company for the customer needs and buying practices. You will leverage previous expertise in cyber security or networking
  • Create powerful product positioning and clear messaging; Evangelize your product offerings to buyers and practitioners
  • Map the competitive landscape and markets, and position your products within them including overall value proposition, features, functionality, verticals and use cases
  • Deliver high impact product and feature launches in collaboration with product management
  • Deliver key messages to analysts and press on the Versa story
  • Create and deliver thought leadership content for digital and demand generation programs and campaigns
  • Create data sheets, brochures, white papers, case studies, presentations, demos, and website content

Our take

The secure access service edge (SASE) is composed of a complex group of networking and cloud software tools like software-defined wide area networks (SD-WAN), secure web gateways (SWG), and firewall-as-a-service. SASE itself functions to better deliver cybersecurity tech, and as such it’s big business right now. Versa Networks is capitalizing on this, with its in-cloud and on-premise flexible SASE solutions.

While the company faces competition against SASE rivals such as Juniper Networks (where the founders left to kick off Versa Networks), and major players like Cisco and Cloudflare. Startups are pulling in hefty funding, too: Cato Networks is a Unicorn twice over, and Netskope is valued at nearly fourfold that. Add to that the current SASE market is set to grow from its 2021 $3 billion valuation to $6 billion by 2028.

This should come as no surprise. SASE sits at the juncture of the lucrative and high-growth sectors of cloud computing, cybersecurity, and networking, and is expected to have a sweeping addressable market as more businesses pivot onto the cloud. Versa Networks is set to hold its own against well-funded startups and acquisitive enterprises, recently completing a "pre-IPO" fundraise of $120 million, the company has positioned itself to deepen its hold on its slice of the market.
