What the job involves

  • As a leader in this domain, you'll collaborate closely with partner teams to strategize on overarching business goals
  • Your team will be at the forefront of developing and implementing advanced optimization algorithms and machine learning models, driving significant enhancements to our advertising systems
  • With a commitment to analytical rigor, your team will evaluate ideas, dissect problems, build workflows, provide recommendations, and lead end-to-end analytics initiatives in this transformative space
  • Hire, inspire, and grow high-performing data scientists and analysts
  • Lead strong partnerships with stakeholders from across the business - from product management, engineering, consumer insights, content, and strategy
  • Instill an inclusive culture that is innovative and collaborative, both within your team and in the broader organization
  • Develop a team charter and roadmap that optimizes the impact of the team and reflects evolving business needs
  • Act as an ambassador between the Product, Engineering, Strategy, and DSE teams by having a deep knowledge of how the Netflix Ads product works
  • Ensure that your team is producing consistently trustworthy and high-quality technical outputs that influence the business

Netflix was started when one of the co-founders had received a $40 late fee after failing to return a film on time. Now, Netflix is one of the fastest growing technology companies, reinventing the entertainment space by providing high quality content for low fees.

Post-IPO funding of $183 million from Winslow Capital at the end of 2023 followed the previous year's dumping of shares by the same company after Netflix's first loss of subscribers. This capital indicates a shifting perspective on Netflix's outlook, which saw a year-end subscriber boost.
