Who you are

  • 3+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
  • 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, information systems, finance, or equivalent
  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • MBA, or CPA
  • Knowledge of Tableau
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

What the job involves

  • You will help drive revenue-generating projects, conduct opportunity assessments, and shape overall sales strategy
  • During a typical week this role can expect to utilize multiple data systems to compile data sets, review data, uncover insights about the business, and present findings and proposals to management
  • You will feel equally comfortable heads-down in data and leading projects to completion and will thrive in an environment of rapid context-switching
  • You will work cross-functionally across the entire organization including Partnerships, Content, Marketing, Ad Product, Engineering, Finance, and Legal to develop and understand deep knowledge of Twitch’s business
  • You will translate this knowledge into delivering key insights to the Advertising Sales organization
  • Current and ongoing work spans the following areas: financial reporting & analysis, strategic planning, process creation & process improvement, and ad hoc reporting & analysis
  • The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and solid business acumen capable of driving results and improving processes
  • They must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, and prioritize
  • O Support sales teams and the wider business, and proactively develop forward-looking projects to scale the business
  • O Act as trusted partner to the Sales team in making optimal business decisions and highlighting critical blockers, risks, and opportunities that impact ability to meet quarterly/annual goals
  • O Drive performance improvements across the sales organization and build the foundation for it to scale. This will include evaluating revenue optimization opportunities, strategic programs to enhance productivity, process redesign, and financial reporting & analysis
  • O Assist with co-authoring highly visible and extremely important business reporting to senior management
  • O Work closely with team and management to identify systems, data or process needs that can generate revenue
  • O Use data systems such as Salesforce, SQL, and Tableau to identify insights and surface to management

Acquisitions include Ring, Twitch, Whole Foods Market, and IMDb.

More recently, Amazon has been focused on leading the "third wave in digital advertising". Many businesses are now shifting ad dollars to retailers, which before would have been spent with online media platforms. Amazon's seen great success in the space, with its revenue from advertising now higher than its Amazon Prime membership scheme, audiobooks and digital music combined. This growth is particularly impressive considering its digital ad rivals (like Snap, Alphabet, and Meta) have suffered declines due to wider macroeconomic factors and Apple's iOS privacy changes.

Despite its dominant market position, Amazon will continue to be challenged over the next decade, including sustaining AWS's cloud dominance in the face of Google and Microsoft. On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
