Who you are

  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in leading and managing software engineering teams
  • 5+ years of experience working with machine learning scientists and engineering and deploying models to production
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering impactful ML solutions within a business context
  • Strong understanding of the ML engineering lifecycle, including model development, deployment, monitoring, and governance
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills

What the job involves

  • We’re looking for Sr. Manager, ML to join Procore’s Enterprise AI/ML org
  • We are seeking a visionary and experienced leader to lead our Machine Learning Engineering team
  • You will be responsible for building and scaling a high-performing team of ML engineers and scientists who design, develop, and deploy impactful machine learning (ML) solutions
  • You will have a deep understanding of ML, Generative AI, and the ML engineering lifecycle and possess the strategic and technical expertise to define the team's roadmap, architecture, and best practices
  • This position reports into VP, Enterprise AI/ML
  • Define and lead the strategic roadmap for the Machine Learning Engineering team, aligning with broader organizational goals
  • Recruit, build, and lead a high-performing team of Machine Learning Engineers and Scientists
  • Establish and maintain engineering best practices for ML model development, deployment, and operation (MLOps)
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of production-grade ML solutions across various business domains
  • Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements
  • Select and implement appropriate ML algorithms, frameworks, and tools to ensure efficient and scalable model development
  • Champion innovation and experimentation within the team, encouraging exploration of new technologies and techniques
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in the field of ML engineering and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and manage robust monitoring and alerting systems for deployed ML models
  • Ensure data security, privacy, and ethical considerations are integrated throughout the ML development process
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
