Role
Who you are
- You have 5-7+ years of experience in a Product Management role. At least 2+ of those years in a PLG company
- You are scrappy, have a bias toward action, and love moving fast
- You have experience working alongside engineers, designers, and customer-facing teams and have shipped products at scale
- You have the ability to be hands-on and in the nitty-gritty details while also being able to zoom out and define the big picture
- You have exceptional verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical partners, internally and externally
- You are comfortable in ambiguous situations and dynamic environments and understand what fast-growing startups entail for PMs
- You have excellent design sensibilities and are technical enough to develop strong relationships with your design and eng counterparts. SQL experience is also a major plus
- You enjoy spending time with customers and are adept at getting to the root problems that your product is uniquely positioned to solve
What the job involves
- Gather is a small team right now, which means every PM has an extremely significant role in shaping and executing the company's vision
- We are working on some of the boldest bets in the company’s history, and we are looking for a strong product lead to help drive core parts of the next generation of Gather
- Use a combination of data, research, market trends, and the team’s instincts to articulate and socialize the strategy for your product lines
- Define short and long-term goals, and own the short and long-term roadmap that we believe will reach those goals
- Partner with design and engineering (as well as go-to-market) teams to deliver projects from inception to experiment to fully launched
- Develop a strong operating model and set of processes to get things done based on project & team needs and constraints
- Spend lots of time with prospects, customers, and members to develop empathy for our end-users and to develop an informed perspective on how to best address their needs
- Think outside of the box to solve problems with novel and creative solutions that are made possible by virtual offices

Gather’s longevity has depended on its ability to offer something substantially more than just a substitute for in-person communication, and the virtual HQ platform means that it can offer both communication and events in a rich and engaging format. To this end, the company has been wise to invest in novel features like spatial audio tech, games, and a highly customizable ‘space’ which allows businesses and events to provide guests a substantial and branded experience.
The startup has already quietly amassed more than 10 million users across 15 countries. Hybrid working is here to stay, and Gather is well-placed to capitalize on this by keeping the social element of office working alive for those days when staff are working from home.
