Who you are

  • Strong understanding of the digital marketing industry dynamics, especially brand advertising as it pertains to video
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail
  • Strong public speaking skills and comfortable presenting to groups of 100 - 500
  • A team player who can successfully work cross-functionally with various stakeholder groups, both within Snapchat and across partner organizations, with minimal guidance
  • Bachelor’s degree (in marketing, business, or economics) or equivalent years of experience
  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing, account management, Sales, internet technology or other relevant digital marketing work

Desirable

  • Solid track record in launching products & driving global adoption
  • At ease with data analytics tools, such as Looker & Excel, and working with Data Science or Data Engineering teams

  • The Product Marketing team uses creativity, market research, and insights to optimize and inspire roadmaps for products across Snap Inc
  • This team of Product Marketers works in a highly collaborative environment to deliver go-to-market efforts and strategies to demonstrate the role that Snapchat plays in the lives of our community and helps businesses grow
  • We’re looking for a Product Marketing Manager to join our Product team at Snap Inc!
  • Use your market knowledge and analytical mindset to properly inform the roadmap through the collection and systematic extraction of key themes coming in from marketers who use the platform
  • Build global go to market strategies to activate sales within your vertical, and coordinate ongoing marketing efforts to grow awareness, understanding, and adoption of Snapchat’s advertising solutions by clients and agencies
  • Own GTM efforts for smaller features and contribute / sometimes lead, the development of go-to-market strategies and initiatives for our ad products and solutions
  • Lead extensive market research to identify new content opportunities through qualitative and quantitative analysis, constantly assess the capabilities and value proposition of our ad products via market trends, advertiser feedback and competitive benchmarking in order to influence our monetization strategy
  • Drive successful cross-functional alignment on go to market strategy & planning and track success metrics accordingly
  • Inspire and educate both internal and external teams on Snapchat’s solutions for advertisers
  • Build frameworks and processes to structure conversations, create & socialize marketing initiatives, and drive alignment across teams and leadership

Our take

Snap is the social media giant that owns Snapchat, a social media mobile app released in 2011. Created to serve as a more emotive communication form than texting, the app has gained mass popularity, reaching upwards of 400 million daily users worldwide.

After rejecting a billion dollar acquisition from Meta (then Facebook) in 2013, Snap has found itself in competition with the social media giant, particularly with Instagram. Despite this, the company has marked a place for itself in the ever competitive social media space through developing features like a Discover tab, augmented reality lenses, in-app games, ads and monetisation options, as well as launching its paid service, Snapchat+.

Snap has so far not earned an annual profit since going public in 2017, but as Snapchat's user base has continually increased it has nearly closed the gap. Like other tech companies it suffered in late 2022 due to a surprise drop in advertising revenue, but has been rebuilding to its former trajectory since then. Given Snapchat's lasting popularity amongst young people, further success appears likely.
